Funny Commercials [2021] (1–10)

AGC 'Whatever it is, whatever it is, AGC / 5G Antenna Edition'Issey Takahashi

Issey Takahashi shows off an amped-up ultra-fast dance in AGC’s new commercial: “Nandashi, Nandashi, AGC / 5G Antenna Edition.”

This is the kind of commercial that, once you see it, gets stuck in your head.

It’s the AGC ad featuring Issey Takahashi, titled “Nandashi, Nandashi, AGC / 5G Antenna.” Both the person asking and the person answering end their lines with “-dashi,” which makes it really catchy, and the comical movements by Takahashi and the background music make it even more addictive.

I bet little kids love this kind of commercial (lol).

Of course, adults will want to try that way of walking too!

Housemate: “Special Guest, Fuwa-chan”Fuwa-chan, Rino Sashihara

Rino Sashihara and Fuwa-chan appear together in a commercial for the first time! Behind-the-scenes footage and interviews brimming with their close friendship, too—Housemate’s new CM is now out.

A commercial for Housemate featuring popular YouTuber Fuwa-chan—who’s been all over TV lately—and Rino Sashihara.

Fuwa-chan shows up at Housemate, spots Sashihara, and keeps excitedly calling her by her nickname, “Sasshi!” But Sashihara insists she’s just a “Housemate staff member.” The ad shows the friendly, natural rapport between Housemate’s staff who help people find properties and Fuwa-chan, just like in their everyday interactions.

The YouTuber-like touch with a selfie stick and smartphone is also easy to recognize and a nice detail (lol).

Ichiban Kuji ONLINE: “Praying Yoshizumi” VersionYoshizumi, Kōjima from the comedy duo Unjash

“THE W” Queen Yoshizumi Screams in Her First Commercial! Mercilessly Teasing Unjash’s Kojima!? Ichiban Kuji ONLINE’s New TVCM: ‘Praying Yoshizumi’ and ‘Praying Kojima’ + Behind-the-Scenes

This is the “Praying Yoshizumi” version of the commercial for Ichiban Kuji Online, featuring Yoshizumi— the female comedian who won “The W 2020: Japan’s No.

1 Female Comedian Contest” — and Koji Kojima from the duo Unjash.

The ad promotes how the popular Ichiban Kuji, normally found at convenience stores and bookstores, can now be done online easily on your smartphone.

Ichiban Kuji has no losing tickets, but Yoshizumi still concentrates and ‘prays’ before drawing in hopes of getting what she wants, and she encourages Kojima to do the same.

This of course includes their classic exchange: “Mr.

Oshima, you too,” “It’s Kojima!” (laughs).

Nissin Cup Noodles: Save the World with the Super Fusion

Save the world with Cup Noodles Super Combination — edition

This commercial starts off with a slightly old-fashioned tokusatsu hero vibe.

To celebrate the 50th anniversary of Nissin’s Cup Noodles, it features a concept where various flavors of Cup Noodles are combined—just like a hero combining parts—in the “Save the World with a Super Combination” version.

Nissin’s commercials are often quirky and funny, and this one, while elaborate, has a relaxed, lightly comedic feel that makes you chuckle.

And true to form, just when you think it’s a gag, they let you know it’s actually being sold for real.

Kansai Electrical Safety Association: The Story of a Man Who Suddenly Became a Kansai Person One Day

A compilation of commercials featuring a man gradually becoming a uniquely Kansai-style Kansai Electric Safety Association person

The Kansai Electrical Safety Inspection Association’s commercial is so familiar to Kansai folks that most people can’t help but start singing the jingle the moment they see the company name.

People even joke it’s cursed so you can’t read it normally (lol).

The story called “The Man Who Suddenly Became a Kansai Person One Day” isn’t about a man who gradually turns Kansai after relocating from the Kanto region for work—it’s literally about him becoming Kansai “all of a sudden” one day.

It’s packed to the brim with Kansai-only in-jokes that make you wonder, “Will people outside the Kansai area even find this funny?” It runs for 12 episodes, unfolds like a drama, and was a hot topic on social media when it was released in 2020.

IRIS OHYAMA Cordless Cyclone Stick Vacuum Cleaner “The Man and Woman Who Suck”Ryo Yoshizawa, Hana Amano

IRIS OHYAMA Rechargeable Cyclone Stick Cleaner CM “The Man and Woman Who Suck” 15 seconds

This is the “The Man and Woman Who Suck” commercial for Iris Ohyama’s rechargeable cyclone stick vacuum cleaner, starring Ryo Yoshizawa.

Yoshizawa plays Shojiki Kaname, a CM planner.

As he’s drinking and brainstorming ideas for a stick vacuum commercial, the cleaner’s excellence is introduced through his thoughts.

Then, a woman appears out of nowhere and, pulling an exaggerated funny face, declares that its suction power is also worth noting and takes a big inhale; Kaname follows suit… In the end, the two of them pulling funny faces made me forget all about the vacuum’s explanation (lol).

Indeed CM On-air Battle 2021JaruJaru, Kamaitachi, Chocolate Planet, New York

JaruJaru vs Kamaitachi vs Chocolate Planet vs New York! A showdown of improvised sketches in Indeed’s new commercial

This is the commercial for the job site Indeed, famous for the tagline “Find jobs on Indeed.” Four comedy duos—JaruJaru, Chocolate Planet, Kamaitachi, and New York—each perform a sketch in the ad.

All four sketches were actually broadcast as commercials, and viewers voted on social media for the funniest one to decide the winner, making the campaign feel like a contest.

The second installment’s theme is working part-time at a café.

Each duo delivers a distinct, chuckle-worthy sketch that’s fun to watch.

By the way, following their win in the first installment, JaruJaru took the top spot again.
