pumpkin hat
A pumpkin hat can be easily made with felt, and the warmth of the fabric gives a soft impression—perfect for a baby’s Halloween costume.
First, use an internet search to find and print a pattern that includes the pumpkin hat size.
The steps are: sew together pieces of orange fabric, shape them into a circle, fold the edge over, and thread elastic through to finish.
Choose elastic about 1 cm wide.
This method works for head sizes up to around 50 cm; if you need it larger, consider increasing the number of fabric panels or making other adjustments.
A cape made from a garbage bag
Capes are a popular item in superhero team shows, especially among little boys.
A cape made from a trash bag is an easy costume you can create using just four items: a 45-liter black garbage bag, mizuhiki-style plastic ribbon (Suzuran tape), clear tape, and soft elastic.
It’s simple to make: first, cut open the trash bag with scissors and spread it out.
Next, anchor the elastic with your foot, pull it tight, and apply tape over it.
Doing this causes the pulled section to bunch up and lift like a collar, giving it a neat finish.
For extra security, attach tape to both ends so you can tie a bow; this helps keep it from coming off, and is highly recommended!
Halloween hair accessory
The hair accessory is a Halloween-recommended item that little kids will love.
Prepare tulle cut to about 20 cm, felt cut to roughly 5 cm × 10 cm, a hair elastic, and a ribbon.
First, fasten the ribbon around the center of the felt and pinch pleats in the middle to give the ribbon some volume.
Next, wrap thread around the center of the ribbon about two times.
Finally, place the tulle and the elastic over that spot, align the ends, and secure them to finish! As a variation, using felt with glitter will make it even cuter, so give it a try if you like.
Oni Horns

Origami Ribbon Headband
Let’s make a ribbon headband using origami! First, cut the origami paper in half.
Stack the two pieces, fold them in half lengthwise to make a long rectangle, then unfold.
Fold the top and bottom edges in to meet the center crease, slide the pieces to extend the length, secure with tape, fold in half again to make it long and narrow, and glue it together.
The base is done! For the ribbon, stack two sheets of origami, cut off one quarter, then accordion-fold the remaining piece.
Tape the center and fan it out to form the ribbon shape.
Fold the cut-off strip into a long narrow piece and wrap it around the center together with the base.
Finally, punch holes in both ends of the base, thread a rubber band through, and your ribbon headband is complete!
Fruits made with colored plastic bags
