When I attended my first music festival as a freshman in college, I was captivated by its charm—“I can’t believe there’s a place this free and this fun.” I share information about wonderful music festivals every day to help grow the community of festival fans.

A “Festival for Enjoying Books at a Lakeside Campground” held on the shores of Lake Kizaki in Nagano Prefecture. Campsites are also available.

This festival, held since 2014 amid the great nature of the Northern Japanese Alps in Shinshu, is dedicated to enjoying books. Books and camping might seem like opposites, but they surprisingly go well together. Leisurely reading by the lakeside is lovely, too. There are also music performances and breakfast gatherings.
