1CHANCE FESTIVALSat 9/6 – Sun 9/7, Kumamoto Prefecture
This is an outdoor festival hosted by WANIMA, the popular three-piece rock band known for doing commercials and theme songs. Holding a festival they run themselves in their hometown of Kumamoto is a long-awaited event for both the band and their fans! I can’t wait to see which of their close-connected bands will be on the lineup. It’s a must-see event for fans who want to fully enjoy both music and Kumamoto. If you’re visiting Kumamoto for the first time, be sure to set aside plenty of time and go have fun!

UMK SEAGAIA JamNightSat, Sep 13 - Miyazaki Prefecture
Since 1977, this has been a long-running event. It takes place at Seagaia. It’s divided into Jazz Night and Juke Night: Jazz Night features seasoned veterans, while Juke Night brings together trending bands and artists, drawing a lively crowd of all ages.

Isla de Salsa World Beat FestivalSaturday, 9/20, Fukuoka Prefecture
An otherworldly space surrounded by palm trees and beaches. Nokonoshima, the event venue, transforms into a “Salsa Island” so full of smiles that you’d never believe it’s in Japan. MUSIC CITY TENJIN is the largest music festival in Fukuoka Prefecture, drawing over 100,000 attendees each year. It has been held since 2002 with the aim of revitalizing the Tenjin area and improving Fukuoka’s music environment. Performers are recruited through an open call, and applications are accepted regardless of performance style or musical genre.
