[Historic CM Collection] A Compilation of Popular Borraginol TV Commercials [2025]

Boraginol is a well-known medication for treating hemorrhoids, and many people have probably seen its commercials on TV.

When it comes to Boraginol commercials, many viewers likely think of the picture-story style ads, with still images accompanied by conversation-like narration.

Recently, to help patients feel more comfortable with the delicate condition of hemorrhoids, the company has also been airing story-driven commercials designed to be relatable.

In this article, we will introduce a variety of Boraginol commercials, both old and new, so please take a look.

Street Live

Even among young people, there may be many who suffer from hemorrhoids but just don’t say it.

This “Street Performance Edition” seems like it could cheer them up.

Thinking that even such a lively woman might be struggling with hemorrhoids can give you courage about your own, right? The only thing that concerns me is that, even if it’s a hard case, she’s sitting on top of her instrument case—but maybe that’s actually a device to draw attention to her backside… Am I overthinking it?

"Lacrosse"

Amato Pharmaceutical, Takeda Pharmaceutical — Boraginol A suppository ointment 'Lacrosse' version — Mika Shirae — commercial

The “Lacrosse” version of the BORRAGINOL A suppository ointment commercial features two members of a lacrosse team.

In the signature BORRAGINOL still-image style, the visuals move along briskly.

The ad stars Mika Shirae and Yumi Akamatsu.

While stretching, one asks with concern, “How’s your butt been lately?” The other replies, “I used BORRAGINOL, so I’m fine now.” As they practice, they compare notes on how they used it, and thanks to BORRAGINOL, both look upbeat, ready to give their all at practice today.

The final line, “Shall we go for it again today?” really underscores how effective BORRAGINOL is!

“Actually, son/daughter, the thing is…” version

When you think of a Boraginol commercial, many people picture that distinctive style made up of connected still images.

But in the past, Boraginol actually had commercials with regular live-action footage.

In this particular ad, the theme is that the father’s hemorrhoids are getting better.

The visuals feel a bit dated, but the humor is timeless.

"Dad's Bicycle" Edition

The TV commercial for Boraginol A suppositories, “Dad’s Bicycle,” shows a father taking his daughter to kindergarten or daycare by bike.

The girl sitting in the front child seat is Aimi Matsumoto.

The ad opens with her cute line, “We’re gonna be late!” urging her dad to hurry.

Until now, Dad had felt uneasy pedaling while sitting on a small saddle, but using Boraginol seems to have eased those worries.

His calm reply of “It’s okay” to his daughter’s “We’re gonna be late” likely reflects that both his fear of being late and his discomfort have disappeared.

You can see the joy of being able to take his daughter safely and with peace of mind in the expression on Dad’s face as he rides.

Amusement Park

Thanks to Boraginol, their hemorrhoids have eased up, and the kids, looking exasperated, mutter “You’re like children” as their parents enjoy the amusement park to the fullest—it’s an incredibly cute commercial.

Online, it seems like a lot of people want to go to an amusement park after seeing this ad! Wouldn’t it be pretty cool to do an amusement-park photo shoot in the style of a Boraginol commercial?

Female college studentMarina Fukuyoshi

Takeda Pharmaceutical Boraginol 'Female College Student'

Marina Fukuyoshi, who works as a model and actress, appears in the Boraginol A Ointment commercial “Female College Student.” She’d been happily enjoying her campus life with nothing to worry about when, all of a sudden, she felt anxious about her bottom.

Surprised that something she thought only her dad dealt with had happened to her too, she turns her confusion into a song and sings about it.

But after applying Boraginol, she starts to feel better and can get back to enjoying student life! It looks like she’ll also be able to put more energy into her flute club activities from now on.

Boraginoal A suppository ointment TV commercial 1990

This Boraginol commercial aired in the 1990s.

Since ads for hemorrhoid medicine are rare, many people probably remember seeing it when it was on.

The commercial features three women who, when they jump, somehow transform into leotards.

The phrase “confidence in your butt” is a play on hemorrhoids, but if this commercial were aired today, it would probably draw complaints.
