Easy and cute cat box
Bringing out the corners to finish it as a round box is the key to giving it a cat-like look! Place the origami with the white side up and do a zabuton fold.
Flip the paper over, fold two opposite corners to the center, then roll-fold once more to crease and unfold.
Turn the paper over, fold all the center corners outward to form triangles.
Flip it over again, and use the creases you just made to stand up the edges.
Then fold the remaining corners inward to make a box.
Leave only one of the outer corners on either the right or left side unfolded to create the ears!
That irresistibly puffy feel! A star-shaped box
Let’s try making an origami box with a fun shape: it has a small opening and a plump, rounded interior.
The puffy shape looks cute, and the overall star-like form makes it even more adorable.
After folding to a certain point, use scissors to cut about halfway.
When you unfold the cut piece, it becomes a pentagon.
Fold this pentagonal origami into the shape of a box.
Adjust the opening and the bottom, and you’ll have a plump, star-shaped box.
You can put in small items, of course, as well as little treats like candies or chocolates.

Here’s a simple idea for making a drawer just the way you like it! Fold the origami in half by overlapping the left and right edges, then fold it the same way again to make creases.
Open the paper completely, place the colored side up, and fold the top and bottom right corners into triangles along the outer crease.
Next, fold the top and bottom edges toward the center, aligning them with the edges of those triangles.
Once the creases are set, open it up and fold it in half by overlapping the left and right edges.
Fold the top and bottom right corners to meet the adjacent triangles, then fold the top layer of the left edge back to the opposite side.
After that, open the pocket formed on the right into a box shape, and fold the top and bottom left corners into sharp points and tuck them into the box’s sides to finish.
I struggled a bit with sharpening the corners, but overall it was easy and quick to make.

Make creases to form a 4×4 grid, then fold the lower left and right corners toward the center.
Fold the left and right edges to align with the center line, and open the bottom center corner outward into a triangle to fold it.
Fold the top edge down toward you to form the sides of the box.
From here, open the lower left and right corners—previously folded to the center—outward to create the remaining sides.
With this, the box is complete, so make another one and stack them to finish a lidded box.

Hexagonal box with a lidNEW!
A hexagonal lidded box with a touch of elegance seems like it could be useful in any situation! This idea is made by combining four parts.
The basic method for making each part is the same, but if the box and the lid are the same size, the lid won’t close, so for the box portion you first fold the right edge about 1 cm before proceeding.
After overlapping and folding the left and right edges to make a crease, open it up, then align the left and right edges to that crease and make additional creases.
Using these creases, fold it into a hexagon to finish.
The front of the lid features a rose-like design that I couldn’t help but gaze at in admiration.

What an artistic idea—turning a square sheet of origami into a three-dimensional round box! With this idea, the key is to make careful, precise creases.
Use the creases to fold it into a box shape while sinking the corners to round out the bottom.
Make two of these and stack them together, and you’ve got a perfectly round box! You might struggle a bit when forming the corners, but once you get the hang of it, it’s easy—so definitely give it a try.
I also thought it would be cute to add ears and turn it into a panda or bear box.
