When I attended my first music festival as a freshman in college, I was captivated by its charm—“I can’t believe there’s a place this free and this fun.” I share information about wonderful music festivals every day to help grow the community of festival fans.

It’s an outdoor festival held in the desert region of California’s Coachella Valley, and it’s counted among America’s three major rock festivals. Today, it takes place over two consecutive weekends—Friday through Sunday each weekend—making a total of six days. Over the years, a wide range of artists have performed, from rock bands to hip-hop artists.
