Haagen-Dazs Commercials: A Complete History Compilation [2025]

When you want to indulge a little, the go-to ice cream is Häagen-Dazs!

You can buy it anywhere—convenience stores or supermarkets—but it still feels a bit luxurious.

Many people probably pick it up as a small gift when visiting a friend’s place or as a treat for themselves.

Speaking of Häagen-Dazs, you also see their TV commercials and web videos quite often!

And what always gets people talking is the cast.

In the past, foreign women often appeared in the ads, but around 2008 they began featuring Japanese actresses, and nowadays there are more male actors and artists as well.

In this article, we’ll introduce Häagen-Dazs commercials that have aired so far, while also touching on the featured performers!

Haagen-Dazs Commercials: Complete History [2025] (41–50)

Haagen-Dazs “Ah, Framboise” VersionKo Shibasaki

Haagen-Dazs Crepe Glacé “Ah, Framboise” - Kou Shibasaki

Crepe Glacé: Haagen-Dazs ice cream wrapped in crepe batter.

The “Ah, Framboise” version of this commercial features Kou Shibasaki.

Appearing in a beautiful kimono, Shibasaki savoringly eats a sliced Crepe Glacé and is enchanted.

She notices the newly released flavor at the time and says, “Ah, framboise.” The refined mood of the ad, including Shibasaki herself, pairs perfectly with Haagen-Dazs’ slightly luxurious vibe.

You can’t take your eyes off Shibasaki—elegant in a kimono, yet adorably girlish in her reaction when she takes a bite!

Haagen-Dazs: “This color is the mark of deliciousness”Ko Shibasaki

[HD] Kou Shibasaki Haagen-Dazs 'This color is proof of deliciousness' CM (15 seconds)

A longtime classic, this is the commercial for one of Häagen-Dazs’s most popular flavors, Strawberry: “This color is proof of deliciousness.” The ad opens with Kou Shibasaki, dressed casually and swaying in a hammock, asking, “Hey, did you know?” It explains that the gentle pink color of Häagen-Dazs Strawberry comes from using only very simple ingredients—strawberries, milk, eggs, and sugar.

It’s nice to know there are no unnecessary colorings, so you can enjoy it with peace of mind.

Haagen-Dazs: 'Melt, take a bite, let's hug' versionAyami Nakajo

Ayami Nakajo Haagen-Dazs Commercial Collection

This is the 2017 Häagen-Dazs commercial, “Melt and Eat—Let’s Hug,” featuring Ayami Nakajo as the image character.

It begins with Nakajo suddenly saying, “Hey, wanna hug?” which makes your heart skip a beat… but it turns out she’s talking about hugging the ice cream cup—holding it gently in your hands to warm it slightly and soften the ice cream.

Many fans were probably thinking, “I got all excited for nothing!!”

Haagen-Dazs: “We’ll never, ever break up again”Ko Shibasaki

Ko Shibasaki gives a mature, sexy look to the camera: “We’re never, ever breaking up.” New Häagen-Dazs commercial

This is the 2015 Häagen-Dazs commercial featuring Kou Shibasaki, titled “I’ll never be able to part with it again.” It’s an ad for the Crispy Sandwich, with Shibasaki in a black dress and hat, set against a black background and a black table—making both her and the Crispy Sandwich in her hand stand out strikingly.

The tagline and visuals create a distinctly mature mood, don’t they?

Haagen-Dazs “Atelier” VersionKo Shibasaki

[HD] Kou Shibasaki Häagen-Dazs “Atelier: Body and Soul, Chocolate Brownie” CM (30 seconds)

This is the “Atelier” series commercial for Häagen-Dazs featuring Kou Shibasaki that aired in 2013.

With her long hair neatly tied back in a ponytail, she’s engaged in creative work in her studio—there’s a scene where it seems like she’s taking a short break.

She takes a big, delicious-looking bite of ice cream.

It’s the kind of commercial that makes you think, “I should pick up some Häagen-Dazs on my way home today.”

Haagen-Dazs “Party” VersionKo Shibasaki

Kou Shibasaki Commercial Collection: “Haagen-Dazs – 12 Spots” [Actress] Kou Shibasaki

This is the Häagen-Dazs “Party” commercial from 2015 featuring Kou Shibasaki.

On a night of gently falling snow, a group of women have a get-together in a candlelit, atmospheric room and make a toast with Häagen-Dazs.

I think it evokes Christmas, but both the tagline “Slow Night Häagen-Dazs” and the background music avoid a clichéd Christmas vibe, which is nice.

Very chic.

Haagen-Dazs 'Wrapping Heart' VersionKo Shibasaki

[Ko Shibasaki @ CM] [Häagen-Dazs / May 2011] Häagen-Dazs “Embracing Heart” version

This is the 2011 Haagen-Dazs commercial series “Embracing Heart,” featuring Kou Shibasaki.

Dressed elegantly in traditional Japanese attire, Shibasaki wraps a jar of strawberries in a furoshiki, while beside her strawberry ice cream is gently enveloped in a crepe.

The ad beautifully links the idea of “wrapping” in both the crepe and the furoshiki.
