The Great East Japan Operation was launched to use the power of music to encourage the disaster-stricken areas and to ensure the March 11, 2011 Great East Japan Earthquake is never forgotten. This time, led primarily by Kyoto’s 10-FEET, it’s being held with the hope that people in the affected regions can enjoy themselves a little during this snowy season when entertainment is scarce, and that people outside those areas will take this as an opportunity to see the current situation there. Music alone may not have the power to bring about reconstruction, but it would be wonderful if reconstruction steadily progresses thanks to those moved by music, helping people regain their spirit.
