When I attended my first music festival as a freshman in college, I was captivated by its charm—“I can’t believe there’s a place this free and this fun.” I share information about wonderful music festivals every day to help grow the community of festival fans.

Iceland’s largest music festival, held once a year in Iceland. Artists from both inside and outside the country, whether professional or amateur, come together for the event.

A music festival in Iceland, the country known as the birthplace of Björk and Sigur Rós. Launched in 1999, the festival has since gained worldwide recognition, to the point that the renowned Rolling Stone magazine called it “the hippest long weekend on the annual music-festival calendar.” The venues span the entire capital of Reykjavík, with a variety of shows by bands and DJs taking place all over the city.
