When I attended my first music festival as a freshman in college, I was captivated by its charm—“I can’t believe there’s a place this free and this fun.” I share information about wonderful music festivals every day to help grow the community of festival fans.

Heading to Iiyama, Nagano in August! It’s a reggae-centered music festival that started as a way to revitalize the local community. Big up!

Since 2008, a summer music festival held in Iiyama City in northern Nagano Prefecture has been known as Iiyama Sawagosa. Aiming to bring even more excitement to Iiyama—also famous for its hot springs and ski resorts—we invite a variety of artists from all over Japan every year. The lineup spans all genres, with a strong reggae flavor. Why not head to Iiyama in hot August and cool off while listening to the laid-back rhythms of reggae? Tickets are super affordable, so we welcome visitors from outside the prefecture, too.
