This commercial portrays the desire for people to enjoy traveling on JR West’s Sanyo Shinkansen, overlapping that feeling with characters from the anime ONE PIECE.

It also introduces the specially designed trains featuring the characters, further heightening the excitement as if setting off on an adventure.

Enhancing the freshness and exhilaration expressed in the visuals is We Are! by Hiroshi Kitadani, well known as an anime opening theme.

This commercial portrays the scene of Tami-chan, played by Ikoi Hayase, moving to Tokyo, while also depicting the warmth of the people seeing her off.

Although her parents oppose it, she decides to move to Tokyo; during the send-off, she notices that the Suica card she was given has been preloaded, and she feels their warmth.

That human kindness is further emphasized by Ichiko Aoba’s performance of “Hitotsu Dake.” The blend of gentle piano tones and a fragile-sounding vocal is striking, and the song conveys, with heartfelt sincerity, the importance of human connection.

It is a cover of Momoe Yamaguchi’s signature song “Ii Hi Tabidachi,” made possible by a request from the song’s lyricist and composer, Shinji Tanimura, who was taken by Onitsuka’s voice.

The track was used as the campaign song for JR West’s “That’s in the West: DISCOVER WEST.”

JR East Japan: “Now, let’s run into the future together.” 30-second version

It’s an original piece composed by Jorge González and Johnny, who have worked on many commercial jingles.

Packed with the driving beat of a Western rock band, the song is quite wild, and the commercial tied in with the Tokyo 2020 Olympics is made even cooler as a result.

It was released in 1993 as Keiko Utoku’s second solo single.

The song became her best-selling track, charting on Oricon for 22 weeks and achieving long-term sales.

It is one of Keiko Utoku’s signature songs and was used as the theme song for JR Tokai’s “Plus One Campaign” commercial.

It was written as a campaign song for the “DREAMS COME TRUE × Kyushu Shinkansen” project, adding sparkle to the opening of the Kyushu Shinkansen.

The lyrics and music were created by Miwa Yoshida.

The song used in JR West’s Sanyo–Kyushu Shinkansen through-service commercial (Mizuho/Sakura), Kumamoto & Kagoshima edition, is Yuzu’s grand medium-tempo ballad “Kanata.” It’s included on their 2011 album “2-NI-.” The chorus that expands out from the spoken, conversational parts leaves a strong impression.

Yuzu are also known for large-scale songs like this one, which seem to pair perfectly with sweeping vistas and majestic natural scenery.
