When I attended my first music festival as a freshman in college, I was captivated by its charm—“I can’t believe there’s a place this free and this fun.” I share information about wonderful music festivals every day to help grow the community of festival fans.

We’ve put together an overview of fall festivals taking place across eastern Japan, from Hokkaido to the Hokuriku and Koshinetsu regions.

The Fuji Kawaguchiko Jazz Festival is a jazz festival held in Fujikawaguchiko Town, Minamitsuru District, Yamanashi Prefecture. Spanning three days and featuring many jazz bands, it’s a festival of such scale that it’s synonymous with jazz in Yamanashi. If you’re in the area, be sure to check it out.
