When I attended my first music festival as a freshman in college, I was captivated by its charm—“I can’t believe there’s a place this free and this fun.” I share information about wonderful music festivals every day to help grow the community of festival fans.

Even in autumn, there are still plenty of music festivals being held.

Here’s a roundup of fall music festivals taking place in western Japan.

It covers a wide area from the Tokai region to Kyushu and Okinawa, and there are lots of interesting events in each region.

SOCIAL TOWER MARKET is held in the park with the TV Tower located right in the heart of Nagoya. Because the park is scheduled for renovation, 2018 will be the final year of the event. Admission is free, and in addition to live performances by various artists, a wide variety of vendors will set up shop, from delicious food and secondhand bookstores to clothing brands. With so many high-quality stores gathered in one place, why not come by—even from outside the prefecture—and enjoy a day of shopping?

STORMY DUDES FESTASat, Nov 8 — Osaka Prefecture

RAZORS EDGE is a four-piece band from Osaka. Their circuit festival, STORMY DUDES FESTA, will be held again this year. It’s a circuit-style event that uses live music venues around America-mura. Centered on melodic hardcore and punk bands, it boasts a fiery lineup.
