Set on the outskirts of Kalona, Iowa, at the Windmill Ridge Campground, this long-running outdoor festival is dedicated to bluegrass. Attendees spread out chairs on the lawn to listen in an open-air setting, and the grounds are equipped for camping, allowing participants to immerse themselves in performances over three days. A wide range of bands perform from Friday night through Sunday morning, and the distinctive lineup includes a hymn session on the final morning. In 2026, it will be held from July 17 to 19.

Nordic FestThu 7/23–Sat 7/25, Iowa

This is a Nordic heritage festival held every July in Decorah, Iowa, celebrating Scandinavian culture, music, and cuisine.
