July Music Festivals [2025–2026]: A roundup of summer festivals, outdoor rock festivals, and other music events

It’s one of Japan’s largest camping festivals, organized by the magazine GO OUT. The event has expanded to venues across the country, including Fumotoppara in Fujinomiya, Shizuoka, and Tenjin-hama Auto Campsite in Inawashiro, Fukushima. It features stylish camp sites, live performances by a variety of artists, booths from outdoor brands, and a full lineup of outdoor activities and fun.

An outdoor event centered on underground music, held amid majestic nature. The main festival runs for three days, and including the pre-party, it becomes a four-day, large-scale event. It’s a recommended event where you can enjoy a club-like atmosphere in the open air.

Originally held as a live event at a bar in 2006, this event has been refined through changes in venue and format, and since 2016 it has been hosted as a free beach event. Because it’s free, it’s an easygoing festival that people of all ages can enjoy.

The concept is “maximizing extraordinary spaces.” Just hearing that makes it sound like a fun festival! During the event, there will be daily live performances on a boat. With beautiful scenery, delicious food, and enjoyable music all coming together, it’s sure to be an exceptionally luxurious summer!

JOIN ALIVE has been held every year since 2010 at Iwamizawa Park, which features an open-air music hall and the Hokkaido Greenland amusement park. You sometimes hear about music festivals held at amusement parks, but a unique feature of JOIN ALIVE is that you can actually enjoy the rides there as well. This means families can attend without younger children getting bored. Admission is also free for junior high school students and younger, so this event may inspire many children to fall in love with music.
