Kansai Music Festivals [2025–2026]: Special Feature on Must-See Outdoor Fests & Events

This is a circuit-style festival held at live music venues in Kobe, hosted by Arukara, a four-piece rock band from Kobe. Around 60 artists are scheduled to perform each year. You won’t want to take your eyes off Neko Fes, which has finally established itself as a staple circuit festival in the Kansai region.

Borofesta is held at Kyoto KBS Hall, where the stained glass behind the stage is strikingly impressive, and at the live music venue METRO. It is created solely by an executive committee made up of people working in music—such as live house staff and band members—and a large number of volunteer staff.

At the Tenma Music Festival, there are no restrictions on musical genre—you can enjoy a wide variety of styles including gospel, jazz, country, folk, classical, Hawaiian, and rock. The event is a large, citywide celebration held at more than 30 venues, such as the ward community hall, elementary schools, corners of shopping streets, and even Osaka Station (as a satellite venue).

Pianica no Majutsushi FES is an event hosted by the music collective “Pianica no Majutsushi,” a group of top-tier, active artists. The event name packs a punch, and so does the festival itself—billed as a “participatory music fest.” Let’s all bring our melodicas and head to Tsurumi Ryokuchi!
