When I attended my first music festival as a freshman in college, I was captivated by its charm—“I can’t believe there’s a place this free and this fun.” I share information about wonderful music festivals every day to help grow the community of festival fans.

Compared to eastern Japan, western Japan has many so-called local festivals, and there are plenty of small events that are easy to miss.

Here, we’ve put together an overview of summer music festivals held in western Japan.

This festival is being held out of the organizer ADAM at’s desire to spread instrumental music further and to let more people know about Hamamatsu, the “city of instruments” that thrives on the musical instrument industry.
