In our “Free Music Festival,” the word “free” embodies three meanings: free of charge, freedom, and freedom from various boundaries. It’s a festival where artists of diverse genres perform, offering enjoyment across generations and opportunities for new discoveries.

The Taro Hakase Music Festival is an event that, after being held as a traditional summer festival hosted by Taro Hakase since 2002, was relaunched in 2019 with a new concept. This open-air festival takes place in two locations, Tokyo and Kyoto, both set in venues where you can feel Japan’s history, offering a new experience of enjoying contemporary music. Before the Tokyo performance, it might be interesting to stroll through places like Shinjuku Gyoen or Meiji Jingu, learning about their history as you make your way to the venue.

It is a festival held in Tokyo, mainly featuring vendors from Southeast Asian countries. Cambodia hosts cultural celebrations, and the Laos Festival has been organized since 2007. It was established by a Japanese person who was captivated by Japan during a homestay in high school in 1996. The event takes place in the event area of Yoyogi Park.
