The meaning of the term “old school” in music genres

“Your outfit today is old-school.”

The term “old-school” is used in various contexts, but many people might not really understand what it means.
To be honest, I didn’t get it myself in the past.
This time, I’d like to focus on the term “old-school” and talk about it.

What does the original meaning mean?
Originally, it was used to mean “alma mater” as a noun and “old and good” as a modifier.
From there, the meaning shifted, and today it’s used with the nuance of “classical.”
When the term “old school” is used in contexts like music, fashion, or dance, it refers to the culture inherent to that form.periodizationI am doing (it).

In the early 1970s, at the dawn of hip-hop.
At the time, it was a trend among young people to go out to discos.
However, economically disadvantaged African American youths did not have the money to go out to discos.
So they gather in parks and squares and end up throwing parties.
It was called a block party because it was held by gathering people in a specific section of the city.
I brought a turntable (Technics SL-1200) from home, plugged it into the outdoor light outlet, and played a record.

Looking back now, the outfits might seem tacky, but at the time they were groundbreaking, and the B-boys were thrilled.
