We’ll put together a playlist of the standout spring festival, this year’s PUNKSPRING, featuring its must-see lineup!

PUNK SPRING 2016 Performing Artists (1–10)

ImaginationSPYAIR

SPYAIR “Imagination” TV anime “Haikyu!!” opening theme
Imagination SPYAIR

This song by SPYAIR, a rock band with broad popularity, was used as the opening theme for the anime Haikyuu!!.

The vocals have a slightly distinctive tone, but the voice is incredibly cool, and combined with the excellent singing ability, it’s a track that keeps your ears glued to the singer.

That said, it’s not just the vocals—the guitar solo is cool too, and the other instruments are great as well, so give it a careful listen.

SHADOWS

The news is still fresh that the members of FACT, the band that disbanded last year, have split into two groups and started two new bands, and one of them is SHADOWS.

They haven’t released any recordings yet, and the new CD is set to come out on March 30.

This time, they apparently did a one-take recording with everyone playing together in a warehouse—a “live album without an audience.” I’m really looking forward to seeing what kind of songs they bring and what kind of performance they’ll deliver.

secretBIGMAMA

Secret BIGMAMA

BIGMAMA is a five-piece rock band that includes a violin.

When it comes to BIGMAMA, the image from the music video with the red umbrella is especially strong.

The inclusion of the violin gives them a distinct individuality you don’t find in other bands.

Their vocals are also exceptionally beautiful, and you can’t help but listen closely.

This time, BIGMAMA will be performing only at the Osaka show.

The New WayFace To Face

The New WayFace To Face

Isn’t the appeal of the American three-piece rock band Face To Face their straightforward, masculine-sounding songs? Their visuals are incredibly cool too—their arms covered in tattoos and a Les Paul slung low.

With their hard-hitting, high-energy performance, the crowd is sure to go wild on the day.

MONSTER DANCEKEYTALK

MONSTER DANCEKEYTALK

When it comes to KEYTALK, people often think of danceable rock, and among their songs, this one—just like its title suggests—is especially danceable.

Along with the refreshing vocals, it feels like it was crafted to get the crowd moving at live shows.

Within this edition of Pansupu, I’d say it leans quite pop, but it’s guaranteed to make for a fun live set, so don’t miss it.

This time, KEYTALK—like BIGMAMA—will be performing only at the Osaka show.

My Instant SongMONOEYES

MONOEYES – My Instant Song(Music Video)
My Instant SongMONOEYES

MONOEYES is a new band featuring Hosomi, the frontman renowned for his work with the hugely popular bands ELLEGARDEN and the HIATUS, who is currently on hiatus from activities.

The song has a vibe that could be described as distinctly ELLEGARDEN-like—bright, catchy, and instantly engaging.

Hosomi is as cool as ever! This track really reminds you of that.

MONOEYES will perform at the Tokyo show only.

Dig Up Her BonesMisfits

Amid a lineup heavy with pop-punk and melodic hardcore, a true hardcore punk band takes the stage.

They started in 1977, broke up for a time, then reunited and continue to this day.

This track has a sense of speed—raw, simple, and cool—capturing that quintessential punk vibe.
