[Breaking] Re:Festival 2017 “Split end” Live Report
Re:Festival, Nara Prefecture’s first outdoor rock festival, is held at Kashihara Shrine.
It is organized by Re view, a three-piece rock band from Nara.
Here is a live report of Split end’s performance at this festival, which was launched to give back to their hometown through music!
It's completely cleared up since rehearsal!

The weather had completely cleared up from during the rehearsal for Split End.
Even the weather must have been looking forward to Split End’s live show, don’t you think?
People keep gathering one after another, even during rehearsal.
And after a bow from Misaki-nyos on drum chorus, followed by Ionazun on guitar, Mi-chan on bass chorus, and Nanami on vocal and guitar, the entire band finished their bows, and the concert finally began!!
The first song, “Hitori to Futari,” kicked off with the voice of vocalist-guitarist Nanami saying, “Let’s have fun! The festival of our dreams!”

The atmosphere at the venue was very relaxed.
From the latter half of the first song, a lot more people in the audience start stopping to watch.
After guitar-vocal Nanami’s “We are Split end from Nara! Nice to meet you!”, they moved on to the last part of the second song, Present.
I’m going all out, so give it everything you’ve got in return!

Kicking off the third song, the happy 'Scumbag,' vocalist-guitarist Nanami said, “Can you still keep going? We’re giving it our all over here, so give it your all back! Thanks!”
A new song among Split end’s works.
The number of people taking photos with cameras started to gradually increase from the middle of this song.
It's a cute, upbeat, and catchy song, but also a bittersweet one.
But if you're a girl, I think it's a song you'll surely be able to relate to in some way.
After Nanami’s MC where she said, “If we keep doing Re:Festival over and over, I think someday we might be able to perform in front of thousands of people. I’m really grateful to be invited for the very first one,” she also had a cute moment where she mispronounced Re:Festival (R.E. Festival) as ‘Ri-Festival’!
Mii-chan from the bass chorus casually quipped, “It’s R-E Festival,” and she adorably blurted out, “Huh!? It’s ‘R-E’? I always thought it was ‘Re-Festival’!”—a glimpse of her cute side (lol).
A live performance that envelops the venue

Rather than a sense of unity or excitement, it's more like…relaxedThe expression “did it” fit perfectly for Split End’s live show.
The fourth song, Night and Morning, began with vocalist-guitarist Nanami’s words: “This is a song I made for the people who loved me.”
The crowd at the venue grew even larger, and everyone’s gaze was directed straight at Split end.
It was a song where Mi-chan’s bass-vocal harmonies were very beautiful and incredibly emotive.
And then, without pause, the fifth song began: One Night.
A track where the unadorned, straightforward cry of the lyrics pierces through.
Rather than being 'raw,' it's a song that conveys a girl's true feelings.
The words in the song were like, “This track is insane. Seriously insane.” I got chills like that.
A very, very important song

It's already the last song even though it just started.
It began with Lost Sea, as Nanami on vocal and guitar said, “I’ll sing a very, very important song at the end and head home.”
When it comes to Split End, I think of Lost Sea—it’s one of my absolute favorite songs.
Among today's split ends, this one felt the most like a split end—really, really conveyed that split end vibe.
It was such a really great performance that I could picture a music video, that I could even picture the sea.
Including the super-enthusiastic guests, the relaxed, laid-back vibe of Split End right up to the end was so pleasant, and I personally had a great time at the show!
A quick word after the show!

An open-air rock festival organized by Re view, a three-piece rock band from Nara Prefecture. The festival is held out of Re view’s desire to give back to their hometown through music. It’s a new rock festival in Nara, where there are hardly any outdoor rock events, launching in 2017. It’s a must-see event not only for music fans in Nara Prefecture but for music lovers across the Kansai region.
