It was started by an organizer who has lived in Matsumoto for many years and wanted to make the city he loves even better through music. Matsumoto hosts events like the classical Saito Kinen Festival and the summer festival Matsumoto Bonbon, but because there weren’t any events centered on youth-oriented popular music, the Ringo Music Festival focuses on popular music—including J-pop, as well as rock and hip-hop.

Set in Iwamuro, a hot spring area in Niigata Prefecture, this music event invites everyone to share what they love and enjoy, and to express it freely. Aiming to share the joy of spending time in the countryside, we bring out each person’s unique color, freely paint the space called Iwamuro, and share that time together by creating the event as one. Music and Hige-tachi is a stadium-style rock festival held at HARD OFF ECO Stadium Niigata, a baseball park that can accommodate 30,000 people. When you think of summer festivals, you might picture outdoor stages, but because Music and Hige-tachi is held in a large stadium, you can enjoy a distinctly different atmosphere.

SWEET LOVE SHOWER is an outdoor festival organized by SPACE SHOWER TV. These days it’s held at Lake Yamanaka at the foot of Mount Fuji. With its location offering views of Mount Fuji and a lineup packed with popular artists, it’s an extremely popular event.

Speaking of Fuji Rock, it’s one of Japan’s three major music festivals. It’s a large outdoor rock festival that draws over 100,000 attendees across three days every year. The venue is Naeba Ski Resort in Niigata Prefecture. You can enjoy a wide range of musical genres across stages of various sizes, and at night there are all-night DJ events—truly a festival where you can immerse yourself in music.
