Misawa American Day is a Japan–U.S. exchange event held in Misawa City, Aomori Prefecture, home to the U.S. Misawa Air Base, and hosted by the Misawa International Club and the American Day Executive Committee. Conceived by the club, which was founded in the summer of 1987 to promote people-to-people and cultural exchange between Japan and the United States, the entire city takes on an American atmosphere with features such as an American parade lined with Harley-Davidsons, a festival plaza filled with performances by the Pacific Air Forces rock band, and a food court offering cuisine from across the United States. The Kesennuma Kazemachi Festival is a music event held at the Roadside Station Otani Coast in Kesennuma City, Miyagi Prefecture, and this year marks Vol. 7.
