RUSH BALLIt is an outdoor rock festival that has been held annually in Osaka since 1999.

Since 2005, it has been held at the current Izumiotsu Phoenix and has become a hallmark of Osaka’s summer, captivating many music fans every year.

From rock bands that frequently appear at events related to radio station FM802 to festival-regular rock bands and even hip-hop artists, it’s surely one of the unmissable events for music festival fans in the Kansai region, isn’t it?

A venue where the sea breeze feels great: Izumiotsu Phoenix

First, I would like to tell you about the open and spacious venue, Izumiotsu Phoenix.

Izumiotsu Phoenix is a multipurpose open space on reclaimed land in Izumiotsu City, Osaka Prefecture, and serves as a venue for various music festivals such as Ongakutamashii and HAZIKETEMAZARE.

This Izumiotsu Phoenix is on reclaimed land, so the sea is right next to it.

A refreshing sea breeze flows through the venue, creating a very pleasant space.

Another appealing aspect is the ease of access: taking advantage of the expansive space unique to a reclaimed area, the venue offers plenty of parking.

A venue with expansive lawns

In addition to the sea breeze I mentioned earlier, the RUSHA BALL venue is covered with a wide expanse of grass.

Speaking of rock festivals, everyone moves their bodies to dance and run around... In the past, clouds of dust were kicked up and it turned into quite a situation.

After discussions between the organizers and the venue staff, grass turf was introduced.

Maintaining the lawn seems to be quite a challenge, but you are working on improving the infrastructure so that all participants can enjoy themselves.

Thanks to that, not only was the dust problem solved, but since we often sit on the ground, we can now relax comfortably on soft grass—making it possible to have an experience completely different from a typical live house.

A lineup with blended genres

What I want to convey here is not that it’s a lineup covering a wide range of genres, but rather that it’s a lineup that effectively narrows down the target participants.

First is a fierce rock band that screams, 'Now this is a rock festival!'

And the other is a rock band with a slightly stylish vibe, often seen at FM802 events.

I feel that the lineup blends these two types of bands well.

Isn’t it an event with no walls in the true sense—where each community blends together?
