A breaking report from the Kasuga Kindergarten stage at the city festival “The Saiin Fes” taking place in Kyoto.

What kind of live performances are unfolding?

We’ll bring you a detailed report from top to bottom!

The Saiin Fest 2017 “Katayama Breakers & The☆Rokenroll Party” Live Report

The excitement is already through the roof from the sound check!

As if the midday rain had been a lie, even the weather sided with Katayama Breakers & The☆Rokenroll Party.

With vocalist Katayama’s call of “Sound check! How’s everyone doing? How about standing up soon?” the venue instantly burst into excitement.

Customers who nod their heads, and customers who dance or jump.

A scene that simply compels you to move.

Soundcheck was done, and during the second song, “KANPAI mo’freaky,” vocalist Katayama rolled around as part of the performance, along with the explosive lyrics.

"Let's forget for a moment that this is a kindergarten!" At Katayama's voice, the whole venue presses forward.

There was a call-and-response of “Kanpai!” and the scene could only be described as that of a live house.

If you’re going to perform live, Sain Fest is the place to be!

During Rhythm ga Justice, nearly the entire venue was united as one.

As if in response to Katayama’s call of “If you’re going to perform live, it’s got to be the Saiin Fes!!,” the venue’s energy kept rising—people were jumping, dancing, and throwing their hands high in the air.

After Katayama’s MC line, “That one time a year we’re allowed to mess up the kindergarten!”, got a laugh, they moved on to the radio number.

At the end of the song, Katayama blows a kiss to the jumping fans!

When the announcement was made for Katayama Breakers & The Rock’n’Roll Party’s music festival set for December, the venue erupted in joy, and they went straight into the fifth song, “Stormy.”

An overwhelming excitement!

Playing in Saiin, festivals in Saiin—Katayama, who says he loves Saiin.

The act that kicked off with an MC saying, “We love Saiin Fes! Thanks for inviting us every year!” was Weekend Crazy.

Customers who express themselves with full energy through jumping and clapping.

The crowd’s energy is at its peak.

Kyoto Tripper, which opened with drummer Keiji Saito’s singing voice, reached a strong sense of unity in the venue when vocalist Katayama shouted, “Come on, we can at least move in this very moment!”

Everyone was jumping, and the excitement reached its peak.

The best rock ’n’ roll

The last song we performed was “Monster Renaissance.”

The audience in the venue looked as if they’d been waiting for this moment.

It felt like I had just witnessed real rock ’n’ roll.

It was an amazing show—ending with drummer Saito playfully saying, “Since it’s Keiji Saito’s birthday, let’s do something like a tip jar!”—and I got to see firsthand just how beloved Katayama Breakers & The☆Rokenro Party are.
