The Saiin Festival 2017: Live Report on “Nagisa no Beethovens”
It’s summer, so let’s get pumped!
Their live show began with a slightly relaxed atmosphere.
The first track, “Domingo!!,” is a lively number sung by the three members other than bassist Aso.
As soon as Domingo!! ended, keyboardist Shiho Ono fired everyone up with, “It’s summer, so let’s get pumped!” and the second song, Party Boys Party Girls, kicked off.
With its beautiful choral work, the song gradually began to raise the venue’s energy.
Do the main vocals keep switching one after another!?
The one singing the third track, “Mushi,” is the bassist, Asō.
Amid a mellow, sway-inducing melody that seemed to cool the excitement from moments before, Aso’s gentle singing voice seeped into the audience’s hearts.
The timbre of the keyboard is also very pleasant.
It was an impressive performance that felt as if the venue blended into a part of Nagisa no Beethoven’s music.
And the one singing “Not Going to Town Today” is the drummer, Nishimura Chuudoku.
You’ve probably noticed by now, but in Nagisa no Beethovens the lead vocalist changes with each song.
Based on the band’s concept that “everyone can write songs and sing,” all four members took turns as the main vocalist this time as well.
Lion of the Seashore
Before the performance of the final piece began, Ono Shiho tried to play the grand piano that had been placed at the front of the venue, but was stopped by the other members.
They’re known for their mellow songs, but the humor sprinkled between numbers made it a show where you could feel the gentle, easygoing vibe among the members.
After eliciting laughter from the audience, the last piece performed was “Lion on the Beach,” which is included on their first album.
Often performed at their regular live shows, this song is packed with their charm.
The venue resonated with guitarist-vocalist Ezoe’s singing voice, and the audience was listening intently.
