As he watches the rainfall and hums “SUUMO March,” he wonders, “Why am I singing this song?” Then SUUMO appears in front of him with an umbrella! SUUMO hands him the umbrella and coolly walks away.

That’s when Kagawa realizes he actually wanted to move.

As if to show his worries have been resolved, the rain clears on the way home and bright sunlight peeks through.

Just like Kagawa, you might find that moving sweeps away that hazy, unsettled feeling!

Suumo is the character from SUUMO, one of Japan’s largest real estate websites.

This green, fluffy, and cute mascot has become very familiar, and this commercial tells the story of how Suumo came to Earth.

It reveals, in candid detail, Suumo’s life up to now—like how he was actually an alien, lived with his parents, and even crashed at a friend’s place.

Suumo has moved and started a new life.

Apparently, Suumo likes music.

They’re jamming in their room, playing a guitar painted with stars—a Flying V—and totally in the groove.

The narration is by Masatō Ibu, whose deep, cool voice is fantastic.
