The Tuska Open Air Metal Festival, commonly shortened to Tuska, is a Finnish heavy metal festival held annually in Helsinki. The first Tuska was held in 1998, and it has grown significantly every year since. From 2001, the festival took place in Kaisaniemi Park in the city center. However, the 2011 Tuska was held in the Sörnäinen district. The festival dates are always either in June or July. In recent years, attendance has increased, with the festival drawing around 30,000 people. In 2006, the festival was almost sold out.
