When I attended my first music festival as a freshman in college, I was captivated by its charm—“I can’t believe there’s a place this free and this fun.” I share information about wonderful music festivals every day to help grow the community of festival fans.

A festival that began in 2016 with the theme of “a grand stage where songs are performed,” showcasing the charms of Minamisanriku in Miyagi Prefecture. It’s a free-admission celebration packed with local appeal.

UTAKKO BURUME is a music festival held in Minamisanriku, Miyagi Prefecture. Its name means “a grand stage where songs are offered.” Centered on local artists, the festival features community-rooted performances such as brass band and dance by local students, and admission is free.
