Forest of the MindShinrizumu
Shinrizumu is a third-year high school student living in Kobe.
He’s a multi-instrumentalist who not only writes lyrics and composes and sings, but also plays guitar, bass, keyboards, drums, synths, and trombone all by himself.
When he released his self-produced recordings, they created a big buzz online.
He’s an artist we can be very excited about going forward.
Afternoon ParadeShikao Suga
Singer-songwriter Shikao Suga—also well known for writing the lyrics to SMAP’s “Yozora no Mukō.” This song, Midnight Rainbow, is from his first original album in six years.
It’s a striking track, with his gentle vocals and the memorable line, “I want to smash your pain to pieces with my Les Paul.”
From Noon Till Dawn (feat.Tabu Zombie & Kunikazu Tanaka)Straightener
Formed in 1998, Straightener is an alternative rock band.
This track features guest appearances by Tabu Zombie, the trumpeter from SOIL & “PIMP” SESSIONS, and saxophonist Kunikazu Tanaka.
It was used as the theme song for the drama “The Hero Yoshihiko and the Key of the Evil Spirits.” With the addition of horns, it’s an even more powerful and cool track.

Panorama Panama Town, formed in Kobe in 2014.
A talented young band that won awards in various auditions in 2015.
Their straight-ahead J-rock is very approachable and free of quirks.
Yet the occasional rap interludes add a unique flavor, making them more than just simple.
They’re an artist to watch this year.
Odoru-LoopFrederick
Frederic is a rock band from Kobe that stands out with a uniquely distinctive singing voice.
On top of that voice, their lyrics and songs have quirky twists that make them addictive.
I’d love to dance my heart out to this song at VIVA LA ROCK.

Yabai T-Shirts Yasan, with a sense of humor so over-the-top it almost feels like they’re messing around.
They say their goal as a band is to share a stage with Taylor Swift.
This track of theirs takes the club staple “Shots” as its theme.
The energy and momentum are huge—guaranteed to get the crowd going at their shows.
