This song really brings out the best in the group! With lots of unison and harmonies, it’s fun both to sing and to listen to.

Idol groups don’t usually have a strong image of using harmonies, but lately everyone’s vocal skills have been improving, so instead of just unison, there are members who handle harmonies too, which makes it more enjoyable to listen to! The harmonies in this song mostly move a third above, so they’re easy to understand and sing.

Since it’s a group song, I think it would be fun to split the parts among your favorite members and sing it that way!

You know what,Are-kun & 'Yuika'

You know what? Arek-kun & “Yuika”

A duet song for men and women that you’ll want to remember! It might not be very familiar to some of you, but it’s a cute song, so definitely try learning it! In this track, Are-kun sings the main part, and the harmonies are mostly done by Yuika.

There are call-and-response sections and unison parts too, so I think it’s really fun to sing! One thing to note: Are-kun’s part doesn’t change much in range, but Yuika’s part gets busy—she jumps an octave higher in the chorus and also goes lower at times.

Switching back and forth between head voice and chest voice might be tough to memorize at first, but don’t get discouraged—keep at it!

Sukima Switch’s harmonies are basically the “lower harmony” in my mind.

The upper harmony is easy to grasp, but isn’t the lower harmony kind of hard to find by ear? Still, their two voices balance so well—I love it, and it always makes me want to harmonize! Especially in this song, the lower harmony right after the final chorus line of the hook feels amazing when it locks in, so that’s my top recommendation.

I think it’s fine to sing with about the same volume as Ohashi! The key with lower harmony is to support firmly without sticking out more than the lead vocal, so it might be tough to pitch at first, but do your best not to get pulled toward the main melody!

A farewell to that farewellMiyuki Nakajima

A ballad of serene brilliance crafted by Miyuki Nakajima herself.

It was provided to Tomomi Kahara in July 2006.

Rather than simply lamenting a farewell with a loved one, it portrays a protagonist who bids goodbye to a sorrow-filled past and takes the first steps toward the future.

The gentle melody, where piano and strings nestle together, seems to softly support that resolve.

That same year, Nakajima also self-covered the song on her album “Lullaby SINGER.” If you listen to it on a night when you stand at a crossroads in life and long to overcome sadness, it may kindle a steady light in your heart.

Thank youYoshida Brothers

The Yoshida Brothers fuse the traditional Tsugaru shamisen with contemporary sounds like rock and electronica.

Among their repertoire, this piece stands out for its particularly gentle, warm tones that resonate deeply in the heart.

Many were surely moved when it was featured alongside a story of gratitude to the parents who supported the brothers, in BS Asahi’s special program celebrating their 15th anniversary.

This work is included on the acclaimed album “FRONTIER,” released in May 2003.

When you want to express thanks to someone dear, why not let its warm timbre echo your feelings?

Azusa No. 2hunter

This is a signature song by a male duo from the Showa era.

I love folk songs from this period! In “Azusa No.

2,” the A and B sections are relatively quiet, but once the chorus hits and the harmonies come in, it suddenly soars! It’s incredibly cool and feels so good to sing! The harmony is basically a third below, but since the main melody’s chorus sits around G4 and has that belting quality, the harmony should come in firmly so it doesn’t get overshadowed.

When entering the chorus, listen carefully to the backing track and breathe together so you both come in at the same time! The unison at the end of the chorus after all that harmonizing is wonderful, too.

It might be a somewhat wistful song, but when the harmonies lock in, it’ll give you goosebumps—so definitely find a partner and give it a try!
