The café operating on the first floor of the Mouri Detective Agency is called Poirot. The name is taken from the famous Belgian detective Hercule Poirot, and in the story it is often depicted as a place the characters frequently stop by.

Arthur Conan Doyle and Edogawa Rampo

The name of the protagonist of Detective Conan, Conan Edogawa, is taken from the mystery writer Arthur Conan Doyle and the Japanese mystery writer Edogawa Rampo. This combination was devised by the author, Gosho Aoyama, and signifies that Conan is a character with outstanding powers of deduction.

Soccer Club

The name of the drug that Ai Haibara (Shiho Miyano) was forced to take by the Black Organization is APTX4869. This drug was being developed by Shiho Miyano (Ai Haibara), inherited from her parents’ research, but it was revealed to have the side effect of shrinking Ai Haibara and Shinichi Kudo into the bodies of small children.

Heiji Hattori
