Songs with titles that start with 'de'. Perfect as hints for karaoke or shiritori!

Have you ever played “Shiritori Karaoke,” where you link songs in karaoke using the last letter of the previous song, or “Song Title Shiritori,” where you play using only the song titles?

In karaoke, it’s great when your go-to songs start feeling repetitive, and for regular shiritori, it’s perfect when you want to raise the difficulty.

You’ll end up singing songs you don’t usually pick, and sometimes you can’t think of a title, which really livens things up!

So in this article, to help you out in those moments, I’ll introduce songs with titles that start with “de.”

I hope this helps everyone have a fun time together!

DESTINYMy Little Lover

A gem of a love song that eloquently portrays sweet yet bittersweet feelings of love.

Released in May 1998 as My Little Lover’s 11th single, it was also chosen as the theme song for the Fuji TV drama “WITH LOVE,” becoming a major talking point.

Akko’s delicate vocals beautifully capture the fateful encounter with a loved one and the depth of their bond.

The lyrics, which liken the subtle nuances of a love that feels “farther the closer you get” to an ocean’s ever-shifting emotions, leave a lasting impression on listeners’ hearts.

It’s a perfect track for when you want to reminisce about your first love or reaffirm your feelings for someone special.

Delayed BrainNUMBER GIRL

NUMBER GIRL’s “Delayed Brain” feels like putting the jumbled scenery inside your head straight into words.

It’s included on their 2002 album NUM-HEAVYMETALLIC.

The band’s performance, which gives off an ennui-laden mood, together with vocalist Shutoku Mukai’s voice, evokes a mind so overwhelmed that fatigue has begun to show.

That flowing sound seems to sit close to the listener’s heart and gently soothe its wounds.

It’s a song I recommend for those times when you’re completely worn out, body and soul.

DilemmaNelly

Nelly – Dilemma (Official Music Video) ft. Kelly Rowland
DilemmaNelly

It’s a rare song that’s partly like a duet.

The woman is saying, “I can’t live without you,” while the man is distracted by another woman, making it a complicated song.

It’s the kind of track that splits listeners—some are moved to tears, while others feel anger.

ONE N’ ONLY is a male vocal unit gaining popularity with a K-pop-inspired sound.

They’re a unit that branched out as a project from Ebisu Gakuen Boys Club.

Their new track is “Departure.” Genre-wise, it feels like a blend of trap with K-pop, and the flow and drop also give off a drill vibe.

Though their position is similar to that of idols, their musicality is solid, so even hip-hop fans should enjoy it.

These are tracks from the album “35xxxv.” Many of ONE OK ROCK’s songs depict the pursuit of dreams, and this track in particular overflows with the band’s—and especially vocalist Taka’s—unwavering determination to take on the overseas market.

Additionally, the song features a collaboration with Tyler, the vocalist of the foreign band Issues.

ONE OK ROCK is a Japanese rock band now active on the global stage.

Their musicality keeps getting sharper, and at this point there’s no difference in overall vibe compared to Western rock bands.

Among their songs, the one I especially recommend is “Delusion:All.” Released in July 2024, it’s captivating for its sense of speed and high-tone vocals.

It’s not an overly heavy rock track, so you can comfortably enjoy the soaring high parts.

But / demo (demonstration) / DEMOOTO (Dark Continent JAGATARA)

Jagatara, a rock band that was active in the 1980s and still enjoys a cult following today.

OTO, the guitarist, is from Toyama Prefecture.

Their extreme performances drew attention, and they blazed through Japan’s rock scene at breakneck speed.

Although the band disbanded after the death of their vocalist, Edo Akemi, they resumed activities in 2020 under the name Jagatara2020 with a new lineup.

OTO is currently engaged in farming in Kumamoto Prefecture.
