Karaoke songs that make it easy for women to score high

Karaoke systems with scoring features have been getting more and more sophisticated lately, and an increasing number now evaluate vocal techniques like vibrato and scooping.

However, the largest part of the scoring criteria is still the accuracy of melody and rhythm.

In this feature, we focus on those criteria and have compiled a selection of songs that are easy to sing and likely to score high, especially ones where it’s easy to follow the melody and rhythm.

When karaoke has a scoring function, you can’t help but want to go for a high score, whether you’re confident in your singing or not.

For each song, we’ve also included tips on how to earn a high score, so be sure to use them as a reference and aim for your best.

That said, the most important thing is to forget about the numbers and just sing freely and have fun the way you like!

Operation Stay Awake (feat. Kaai Yuki) - Yukopi

Among Vocaloid producers, Yukopi stands out as particularly unique.

They keep releasing songs that are comedic, surreal, and somehow cute, and their unwavering musical style has earned them a devoted fanbase.

Their new track is Okiteru Daisakusen (feat.

Kaai Yuki).

As with their previous works, this song is characterized by a comedic and surreal tone.

True to form, it’s wrapped in an extremely singable, catchy vocal line, making it a perfect choice for aiming for a high score regardless of your vocal range.

Someone like you… Lilia.

Lilia is a female singer-songwriter who has gained popularity for her musical style influenced by Koresawa.

With catchy melodies and down-to-earth lyrics, she’s especially popular among teenage girls.

Among her songs, the one I particularly recommend is Anta Nante.

Although it’s crafted as an orthodox J-pop ballad, this piece has a relatively narrow vocal range compared to her other works.

There are no difficult high notes or drastic pitch changes, making it a song that’s easier to aim for a high score with at karaoke.

CharlotteWednesday Campanella

“Charlotte,” a classic by Wednesday Campanella.

Because their music prioritizes groove, many of their vocal lines are simple, and this track in particular features an especially singable melody.

Given the song’s bright feel, you might think it has lots of high parts, but the actual vocal range is fairly narrow.

The rhythm is easy to catch, and there are no drastic pitch jumps or long sustained notes, making it perfect for aiming for a high score at karaoke.

Give it a try!

Single‑minded Cinderella! CUTIE STREET

CUTIE STREET, the hottest idol group right now.

Unlike the trendy idol groups that mainly feature K-pop influences, their classic, moe-filled orthodox style really stands out.

Their song “Single-minded Cinderella!” is a gem with a bright, poppy vibe.

From the feel of the track, you might think it’s high, but surprisingly the vocal range is narrow, and there are no sustained notes in the upper mid to high range.

It doesn’t demand fundamental vocal technique, so it’s a song that’s easy for any woman to sing.

Don't cheat on me.Koresawa

Don’t cheat on me, Koresawa.

Among female listeners, especially those in their 20s, singer-songwriter Koresawa enjoys overwhelming support.

Although she has built a considerable career since her debut, her sweet-and-sour style remains intact, and in “Uwaki Shitara Akan de” (“Don’t You Dare Cheat”), she delivers a cute message that literally warns her boyfriend not to cheat.

The vocal line in this track features very few long tones and stays within a narrow range.

Since Koresawa’s songs often sit in higher registers, this is a must-listen for women seeking an easier Koresawa track to sing.

MermaidYuka

YU-KA – Mermaid (Official Music Video)
Mermaid by Kaoru

Yuka, a female singer-songwriter who has gained popularity for her unique musicality influenced by Western music.

She’s an artist with a slightly lower voice, and her mellow, gentle singing style is particularly striking.

Among her songs, the one I especially recommend is Mermaid.

While it’s built on a slow-jam foundation, it doesn’t feature a challenging R&B-style vocal line with frequent ad-libs; instead, the vocal line maintains a relatively even contour throughout.

The chorus does incorporate mixed voice, but since it’s a non-belting mixed voice, even women in their 30s with lower voices should be able to sing it without any problem.
