Togetsukyo ~Thinking of You~ Mai Kuraki (Full)
Togetsukyo ~Thinking of You~ Mai Kuraki

This is a song that also became the theme for a popular anime film by Mai Kuraki.

As the title “Togetsukyo” suggests, the melody evokes memories of Kyoto, Japan.

The lyrics express continuing to think of someone even when apart, making it a wonderful song.

Be sure to try singing it at karaoke.

Lover SoulKo Shibasaki

It’s a rock-style song by Kou Shibasaki.

The lyrics leave an impression of really loving the other person, and the melody is cool—it’s a really great song.

It suits Shibasaki’s voice, and I think it would definitely hype up the room if you sang it at karaoke.

Give it a try!

GibbsRingo Sheena

This is one of Ringo Sheena’s signature songs.

Songs about love tend to become ballads or slightly poppy numbers, but this one truly reflects Sheena’s unique world.

It’s a track that draws listeners into the lyrics and melody—not only longtime fans but even those hearing her for the first time.

It’s a pop song, so it’s quite easy to sing at karaoke.

SignAimer

Aimer “Sign” MUSIC VIDEO (Opening theme for the TV anime Spice and Wolf: MERCHANT MEETS THE WISE WOLF)
SignAimer

Aimer is a female singer-songwriter who is popular across a wide range of generations.

Her warm, whispery vocal tone is striking, isn’t it? Among her songs, the one I especially recommend for women as an easy song to sing is “Sign.” The melody spans from low to mid-high notes, so the range is somewhat broad, but there aren’t any parts so high that you’d need to use falsetto.

Even those who struggle with high notes should be able to sing it.

Give it a try!

Unrequited loveAimer

Aimer “Kataomoi” MUSIC VIDEO (FULL ver.)
Kataomoi Aimer

Aimer is a female singer who’s drawing attention for her soulful yet delicate voice.

Katomoi, included on her 4th album daydream, is a love song that straightforwardly expresses true feelings.

Despite not being released as a single, it became a long-running hit, especially on streaming platforms.

The melody is fast and intricate, but the ensemble is relaxed, so it should be manageable to sing calmly even at karaoke.

There are occasional leaps in pitch, so stay composed to avoid slipping off the notes.

LOVE LOVE LOVEDREAMS COME TRUE

DREAMS COME TRUE「LOVE LOVE LOVE」
LOVE LOVE LOVEDREAMS COME TRUE

This is Dreams Come True’s (hereafter DCT) 18th single, released in July 1995.

When it comes to Miwa Yoshida of DCT, she’s renowned for her vocal ability, and many people might think, “Can someone who’s not good at karaoke really sing songs by someone like that?” But there’s nothing to fear! Love Love Love is a very simple, easy-to-remember song with a gentle melody, crafted to be easy for anyone to sing.

It was also released in the 1990s, an era when karaoke charts had a big impact on a song’s success, which likely played a role.

Of course, Miwa’s own singing has plenty of moments where you think, “As expected!” thanks to her nuanced expression, but she doesn’t sing in a way that flaunts her advanced vocal skills.

If you listen closely to the original and try imitating it, it can be an ideal material for vocal practice.
