Japanese Pop Karaoke Songs Easy for Men in Their 40s to Sing (21–30)
Rock in canvas shoesYura Yura Teikoku

Yura Yura Teikoku is a band that earned overwhelming support from hardcore music enthusiasts for their sophisticated musicality.
For anyone who loves Japanese rock, you simply can’t talk about the genre without mentioning them.
Among their many great songs, the one I especially recommend to men in their 40s as an easy one to sing is Zukku ni Rock.
It might sound a bit intense, but the vocal range isn’t that wide.
Even if you sing it a bit rough, it still sounds right—so definitely consider adding it to your repertoire.
In the Morning of DeterminationAqua Timez

Released in July 2006 as Aqua Timez’s debut single.
Although it was the band’s first major-label single, it was selected as the theme song for the animated film “Brave Story,” and later in 2011 it was also used as the special commercial song for Sapporo Beer’s “New Year Sports Special: Hakone Ekiden,” specifically for the “Everyone’s Hakone Ekiden Story” campaign.
It’s a beautiful, slow-tempo track with striking string arrangements throughout.
The vocal melody is very straightforward and gentle, making it easy for anyone to hum along.
The rhythmic phrasing of the melody in the A section is a bit tricky, so if possible, please practice that part in advance before singing.
seagullZen of the Wild Fox

The folk duo Yakôzen, whose piercing lyrics moved many men, left a lasting impression.
One of its members, Pistol Takehara, is still active today as a solo artist.
Among Yakôzen’s songs, the one especially recommended for men in their 40s is Kamome.
It’s a ballad rooted in folk, notable for its deeply moving lyrics.
Because of that, expressive delivery is important.
However, the vocal line itself stays within a relatively narrow range without drastic jumps in pitch, so the overall vocal difficulty is on the lower side.
Sora-buneTOKIO

It’s a signature song by TOKIO, a Johnny’s idol group that also plays as a band.
Written and composed by Miyuki Nakajima, it has elements of classic kayōkyoku, making it easy to sing even for older listeners.
Its karaoke-friendly key is also a popular draw.
The Never-Ending SongTHE BLUE HEARTS

A classic by The Blue Hearts, icons of Japanese punk.
Vocalist Hiroto Kōmoto and guitarist Masatoshi Mashima are still active in their band The Cro-Magnons.
It’s one of those rock anthems that’s been sung for years, and it’s guaranteed to get the crowd going at karaoke.
Even when there are lots of hardships and tough times, it carries the nuance of encouraging each other as friends and moving forward.
It really amps things up if you sing it as the closing number at karaoke with the message, “Let’s all get together here again!”
SakurazakaMasaharu Fukuyama

People in their 40s may remember watching Future Diary on TV.
Fukuyama Masaharu’s “Sakurazaka,” which was the theme song for that show, is widely known as a heartrending love song.
Many of Fukuyama’s songs are easy to sing, and you’ll likely find this one easy to sing as well! Don’t miss this classic hit that sold over two million copies.
By the time of the Christmas carolsJunichi Inagaki

“At the Time of Christmas Carol” is a single by Junichi Inagaki released in 1992.
It was used as the theme song for the drama “Homework.” Rather than depicting a happy Christmas, it’s a song from a male perspective about a couple in a lull who have temporarily separated, wondering what will happen by Christmas.
