Last ChristmasWham!

Beloved as a Christmas song by Wham!, this track was released in December 1984.
Its lyrics, which sing of the pain of heartbreak and the hope for new love, captured the hearts of many.
Reportedly written by George Michael in his childhood bedroom, the song uniquely blends synth-pop with Christmas music.
In 2021, 36 years after its release, it reached No.
1 on the UK singles chart.
A film with the same title was also released in 2019, cementing the song’s status as a timeless classic loved across generations.
It’s especially recommended for those who have experienced a breakup during the holiday season or who are hoping to find new love.
Amazing graceWhitney Houston

It’s a famous gospel song that has been covered by many artists.
John Newton, who had been involved in the slave trade, changed his ways after his ship nearly wrecked, later became a minister, and wrote this song.
For this occasion, I chose Whitney Houston’s version.
See You AgainWiz Khalifa ft. Charlie Puth

A collaboration between American rapper Wiz Khalifa and singer Charlie Puth.
It was used in the film Furious 7 and is dedicated to actor Paul Walker, who died in a car accident in 2013.
It was inspired by The Notorious B.
I.
G.
’s 1997 track Long Kiss Goodnight.
Talking To The MoonBruno Mars

The piano and his beautiful voice feel heartbreaking.
I listen to it on lonely nights, when I’m alone, when I want to be completely by myself.
If I listen to it after parting with someone important, it resonates in my chest even more.
I’ve listened to it many times since I first discovered it.

Thank YouLed Zeppelin

A moving song from the rock band Led Zeppelin.
Its gentle melody and warm lyrics touch listeners’ hearts, enveloping them in a sense of gratitude.
Released in 1969 on their second album, Led Zeppelin II, this piece evokes a quiet emotion with its serene organ and acoustic guitar weaving a calm soundscape.
The lyrics, said to have been written by Robert Plant for his wife, express eternal love.
It’s a soothing track that reminds us of the importance of noticing small everyday joys and feeling genuine gratitude.
When you want to express thanks to someone special, give it a listen.
Red RainPeter Gabriel

A track from Peter Gabriel’s smash-hit album.
What exactly is “red rain” a metaphor for? The rain falling here evokes the apocalyptic downpour in the film Blade Runner.
It brings to mind that final scene where Rutger Hauer holds the dove.
I Don’t Want To Miss A ThingAerosmith

It’s the theme song of the 1988 film Armageddon, a track you often hear in commercials and the like.
Just listening to it probably brings a scene from the movie to mind for many people.
By the way, the actress who plays the daughter in the film, Liv, is actually the secret child of Aerosmith’s lead singer! Knowing that makes it a cleverly cheeky bit of direction, doesn’t it? (laughs)
