Playing bus (pretend bus play)

We often hear about playing “train,” but did you know about “playing bus”? This song puts all the things that happen on a bus into a fun tune.

When you get on a big bus, pass the tickets along in order from one person to the next.

And once you’re on the bus, look around and enjoy the different sights.

Buses travel on bumpy roads too.

You might bump into the person next to you, and if it gets crowded, everyone might get squished together! When you ride a bus, remember this fun song and head out on your trip!

There's no such thing as ghosts.

♪ There’s No Such Thing as Ghosts (with gestures) – A Halloween Song [Japanese Song/Chant] / Halloween song
There's no such thing as ghosts.

This cheerful song, “Obake Nante Nai sa” (“There Are No Ghosts”), brightens listeners’ moods and became hugely popular after being broadcast on NHK’s Minna no Uta and Okaasan to Issho.

It’s a song about that cute feeling of being curious about ghosts but still finding them scary.

The childlike, unique ideas for what to do if a ghost appears are amusing, too.

In conclusion

We introduced some recommended nursery rhymes and hand-play songs for July—how did you like them? There were songs for enjoying summer, songs that help ease the heat, and songs about foods kids look forward to in the summer.

With so many extremely hot days lately, it can be hard to let children play outside for long.
