Karaoke songs in Western music recommended for middle schoolers (21–30)
Sweetest PieMegan Thee Stallion & Dua Lipa

For middle schoolers who have a boyfriend or girlfriend, I recommend Sweetest Pie.
It’s a track by Dua Lipa, who also works as a model, and rapper Megan Thee Stallion, crafted as a gorgeously produced slow jam throughout.
A slow jam is a subgenre of R&B.
Since it’s full of R&B’s romantic vibe, I think it’s perfect as background music for a date! Be sure to check it out.
Break Free feat. ZeddAriana Grande

A signature song by Ariana Grande, who is hugely popular among teenage girls around the world.
It’s uptempo and hard to pull off, but if you can sing it, you’ll definitely look like a diva just like Ariana.
If you’re a junior high school student who wants to sing Western pop in a cool way, this is an uplifting song you should definitely learn to sing.
FireworkKaty Perry

One of Katy Perry’s signature songs.
Because the title means “fireworks,” it’s often heard in Japan during the summer.
Katy Perry has fans all over the world and is especially popular with younger generations, so many Japanese middle schoolers are fans as well.
It has a great sense of rhythm, and the chorus is easy to imitate after just one listen, making it easy to sing.
Don’t Wake Me UpJonas Blue, Why Don’t We

Jonas Blue is a music producer based in London who’s released many hit songs.
Among his works, the one I especially recommend for junior high school students is Don’t Wake Me Up.
It’s a collaboration with the boy group Why Don’t We, so not only is the music great, but the music video is put together in a way that’s really enjoyable to watch.
They’re even called the next One Direction, so girls should definitely check them out!
The MottoTiësto & Ava Max

Ava Max is one of the most prominent female singers in the electro-pop scene.
If you’re a middle schooler who listens to dance music, you probably know her.
This track, The Motto, is a collaboration with world-renowned music producer Tiësto.
While many of her songs are high-energy and upbeat dance tunes, this one has a darker, more cynical vibe.
Highly recommended if you like cool, catchy melodies.
AcapulcoJason Derulo

Jason Derulo is an artist who, in addition to being a singer-songwriter, is also highly praised for his dance performances.
He’s been active since the 2000s, and he’s still at the forefront of the scene today.
Among his works, the song I especially recommend for junior high school students is Acapulco.
It’s dance music close to genres like reggaeton and soca, so I think it’ll really get you moving.
Dancing Feet ft. DNCEKygo

Kygo is a music producer whose upbeat musicality has earned him a global fanbase.
As one of Norway’s leading producers, he has been active since the late 2000s and is hugely popular in genres like tropical house and progressive house.
Among his works, a track I especially recommend is “Dancing Feet ft.
DNCE.” With its refreshingly summery sound, it’s perfect for listening during summer vacation.
