Peaches ft. Daniel Caesar, GiveonJustin Bieber

Singer-songwriter Justin Bieber is hugely popular among women around the world.
He used to be seen more as an idol than an artist, but lately he’s been shifting toward R&B and hip-hop, aiming to establish himself as a full-fledged artist.
His new track is Peaches ft.
Daniel Caesar, Giveon.
Released in 2020, this song gained worldwide popularity with its track inspired by the trending sounds of the 1980s and its stylish melodic lines.

FunnyZedd & Jasmine Thompson

Zedd is a music producer who has been broadening the range of EDM expression year by year.
While gaining worldwide popularity, he never rests on his laurels and constantly seeks new sounds as a world-renowned DJ.
His collaboration with UK-born young vocalist Jasmine Thompson, the acclaimed track “Funny,” was released in July 2020 and portrays a woman’s feelings for the man she broke up with.
The production, which shifts from remote-style recording to a fully developed electro sound, reflects the present moment.
If you’re a middle school student who enjoys calm electro sounds, be sure to check it out!
BoatEd Sheeran

Ed Sheeran, a singer-songwriter from the UK loved by many listeners for his catchy musical style.
I think many middle schoolers know about him too.
Among Ed Sheeran’s works, the one I especially recommend is Boat.
Content-wise, it’s a painfully heartbreaking breakup song.
For middle schoolers who’ve just gone through a breakup, I think the lyrics will be highly relatable, so definitely give it a listen.
what would you do?Tate McRae

Tate McRae, a Canadian singer-songwriter popular among teenagers, has a song called “what would you do?” that’s one of the English tracks I recommend for junior high school students.
In Japanese, “what would you do?” is expressed as “あなたならどうするの?” and some of you may have just learned this usage of “would” in English class.
This song helps you naturally pick up slightly tricky grammar—like modal verbs—that many students struggle with in junior high, so definitely try using it to help with your English studies!

24K MagicBruno Mars

Bruno Mars is known for his sophisticated musicality and is hugely popular in Japan as well.
Up until he released 24K Magic, he had shifted through styles ranging from pop to rock ’n’ roll and funk.
Since releasing that song, he’s put out many tracks with melodies reminiscent of disco music and 1980s dance R&B.
It’s funky disco music that will definitely get you pumped! Why not play it at a school friend’s party?
