Get Fired Up! Anime Songs for Men – Classics and New Hits

Anime is a culture that has continued to expand with the times.

Back in the day, labels like “hero stories,” “magical girl,” or “mecha” were enough to explain what kind of show it was, but now words alone just aren’t enough.

That’s how big a scene it has become.

In this article, we’re doing a special feature on anime songs recommended for men.

From nostalgic, heart-pounding tracks to relatively recent releases,

it’s a lineup packed with masterpieces.

It may undermine the premise a bit to say this, but although we’re calling them “recommended for men,” there are surely songs here that will resonate with women too.

Please take your time and enjoy it to the end.

The world that was transparentMotohiro Hata

The World That Used to Be Transparent by Motohiro Hata

This is a heartwarming song crafted by Motohiro Hata as the opening theme for the anime Naruto Shippuden.

Released in August 2010, its sweeping message—reflecting on what has been lost and the resolve to move forward after parting—ties in with the story.

The pop-rock melody, centered on acoustic guitar, is layered with powerful vocals that harmonize beautifully with the anime’s world.

This work is Hata’s 10th single, released in three editions: First Press Limited, Limited Period, and Regular, and it reached No.

13 on the Oricon Weekly Chart.

It’s a song that resonates deeply with those who have experienced parting from someone important or are trying to face events from their past.

You could say that Tetsujin 28-go is the progenitor of Japanese robot anime.

It’s been adapted into anime multiple times, but this is the opening of the very first series.

The theme that a robot can become a force for good or evil depending on how it’s used was carried on by subsequent robot anime.

The RumblingSiM

The RumblingSiM

It’s a loud rock number that overwhelms with a thumping low end, majestic strings, and death growls.

The track is by SiM, the band known for hits like “KiLLiNG ME,” and it was released digitally in 2022.

It was chosen as the opening theme for the anime Attack on Titan.

The dense, weighty sound alone conjures an epic story—absolutely irresistible.

The lyrics, which convey the resolve to “walk the path I’ve chosen,” also fit Attack on Titan perfectly.

Crank up the volume and pay attention to the sense of release in the chorus!

Fly! GundamKo Ikeda

Fly! Gundam (Ichiro Mizuki Version)
Fly! Gundam Ikeda Kou

A song by Ko Ikeda, a singer from Nagasaki Prefecture, used as the opening theme for the anime Mobile Suit Gundam.

Among the many robot-themed anime series—with numerous sequels and related works—this anime is known for having the most famous opening theme.

Unlike the conventional image of anime where the hero pilots a robot to defeat evil enemies, Mobile Suit Gundam presents a weighty narrative centered on war.

Because of that, when you listen to it with this context in mind, its bright, upbeat melody can leave you with a curious, almost dissonant feeling.

When it comes to nostalgic anime, GeGeGe no Kitaro surely comes to mind.

It began airing in the 1960s and continues to be beloved to this day.

Its theme song is one that just about everyone in Japan can hum, making it deeply familiar to many.

Since the series has multiple versions across different eras, I also recommend checking those out.

Getter Robo! Isao Sasaki

Back then, anime theme songs stuffed the lyrics with things like the title and the hero’s special moves, which makes them fundamentally different from today’s anison.

The chord progression is the most classic of classic minor progressions.

With a slight change in arrangement, it could practically be hard rock.

That’s probably why they get everyone hyped at karaoke.

The songs are great, but I also recommend the main show itself, where three machines pull off an outrageous combination.

It’s really fun.

Gaiking: Legend of Daiku-Maryu is a remake of Daikū Maryū Gaiking, but its setting and story have been significantly changed.

Its fiery, classic hero’s tale and high-quality robot action made it popular among mecha anime fans.
