Harbor LightsBoz Scaggs

Let me introduce Harbor Lights, whose jacket photo shot by the sea is also striking.
It’s a song by American singer Boz Scaggs, and its sound blends elements of jazz and rock.
The lyrics, on the other hand, depict someone on a foreign shore, reflecting on their homeland.
Though not much is explicitly revealed, the poignantly melancholy atmosphere resonates with listeners.
Familiar place names appear in the song, so keep an ear out for them as well.
One Last CryBrian McKnight

A perfect classic for a morning by the sea: “One Last Cry.” It’s a masterpiece by Brian McKnight, one of America’s leading R&B singers, and it was a huge hit in the 1990s.
While the genre is R&B, the overall tempo is kept very slow, making it a ballad that’s easy to enjoy even for those who might be hesitant about Black music.
The lyrics are sad, but the melody is incredibly soothing, so be sure to listen while gazing out at the ocean.
Falsa MonedaBuika

The legendary Spanish artist Buika’s classic song “Falsa Moneda.” It’s one of her hits and a work that’s highly acclaimed by music connoisseurs around the world.
Although it’s a breakup song in which the woman urges the other to leave, I chose it because the melody is exceptionally well crafted.
It’s an elegant, artistic piece where you can savor her husky voice.
I think you’ll feel pleasantly at ease listening to it while gazing at the sea!
Sea Side Week EndISABELLE ANTENA

Isabelle Antena was a central member of Antena, a French bossa unit.
After disbanding the group, which was not commercially successful, she made her solo debut in 1985.
Her debut work was “Sea Side Week End.” It has a floating, airy feel and is a stylish track perfect for a summer vacation.

Lovin’ YouJanet Kay

Janet Kay is a reggae singer from the United Kingdom.
Her signature song, “Lovin’ You,” was recorded in 1977.
The original version of this song was made a hit by American soul singer Minnie Riperton.
It’s a cute and refreshing ballad.
I Believe In YouJoe

Joe is an R&B singer who commanded overwhelming respect in the R&B scene from the 1990s through the 2000s.
He has continued to deliver classic, straight-ahead R&B and still has a devoted fan base today.
Among his body of work, a song I especially recommend is I Believe In You.
It’s a perfect fit for a morning-by-the-sea vibe, with a refreshingly sweet R&B sound throughout.
Above all, Joe’s smooth, sweet vocals match the mood of the track perfectly.
CarusoLara Fabian

Caruso, a famous song by Lucio Dalla released in 1986.
The piece portrays the late-life romance of the great tenor Enrico Caruso.
It is said that in his final years, while suffering from illness, Caruso spent his remaining days gazing out at the sea of Sorrento.
The song features many such images, making it a deeply poignant piece themed around the sea.
This time, we’ve picked a cover by the Belgian artist Lara Fabian.
The original is wonderful, but this version achieves a distinctly different atmosphere.
Be sure to check it out!
