KNOCKIN’ ON YOUR DOORL⇔R

The band L⇔R gained popularity with their refreshing musical style that mixes rock and J-pop.
Although they were active in the 1990s, many of their songs evoke the sound of the 1980s, and their catchy music won them many fans.
Among their tracks, one I especially recommend is “KNOCKIN’ ON YOUR DOOR.” It has a slight city-pop vibe, featuring a smooth vocal line with gentle rises and falls in pitch throughout.
The range is a bit on the higher side, but as long as you stay in key, it’s a song that anyone can sing.
nomineeCYNHN

CYNHN’s new song is a work infused with hope and anticipation for the future.
The title, which means “the recommended one,” reflects their desire to be recognized in the music scene.
You can feel their ambitious stance in the inversion of their blue-themed worldview and their challenge to the contemporary music landscape.
Digitally released on January 1, 2025, the track is a lead single from the album “INVERSIOИ.” It’s a recommended listen for those who want to discover a new side of CYNHN or connect with its down-to-earth lyrics.
The Farmer and the God: The Big ‘Ichimotsu’Doburokku

A guaranteed crowd-pleaser for karaoke! This song by Doburock begins with a story about a poor farmer who goes into the forest to find medicine for his mother.
However, the farmer’s unexpected wish is for “a big manhood.” Ignoring even the words of God, he single-mindedly pursues his desire—lyrics that are impossible not to laugh at.
Released in September 2022, the track is a folk-style song carried by the light rhythm of an acoustic guitar.
It’s perfect for singing in fun, lively settings like drinking parties or banquets where everyone can share a laugh.
Why not enjoy the lyrics while you sing along?
Not Drunkbewitching goldfish

Yoen Kingyo is an R&B/hip-hop duo highly acclaimed by Japan’s core black-music aficionados.
Their songs evoke 1990s and 2000s Western R&B, and their refined style has earned support in the underground scene as well.
Their classic “Not Drunk” exemplifies quality R&B.
While it doesn’t showcase flashy technique, the song is difficult enough that you can’t really sing it without a solid command of R&B fundamentals.
If you can perform it flawlessly, it will undoubtedly leave a cool, sophisticated impression.
No moreAI

This one is also a collaboration with EXILE ATSUSHI.
I think both of them are truly top-tier singers representing Japan, and I’m enchanted by how a song turns out when such a man and woman create it together.
Their voices blend perfectly, it’s so pleasant to listen to, and I play it all the time.
I love this song.
no-hitterBUMP OF CHICKEN

It’s a baseball-themed track included on the 1st album, “FLAME VEIN.” The song’s protagonist is a slugger (batter), so the title is actually not particularly related to the content—a rather curious piece.
It features easy-to-follow, story-like lyrics and a calm, composed tone.
Exploding Brain GirlHatsune Miku

I found out about this song because my younger brother sang it at karaoke.
I listened to it when I got home and got hooked right away.
Wagakki Band also did a cover of it.
The 96Neko version sounds a bit cooler.
After I got married, I learned that my husband knew it too, so we sang it together at karaoke (lol).
