ON & ON feat. Neibisstofubeats

Here’s “ON&ON,” the first 2025 release from tofubeats—an influential 1990-born music producer and trackmaker trusted by many musicians.
Featuring Neibiss, who like tofubeats hails from Kobe in Hyogo Prefecture, it’s a catchy, upbeat club track rooted in UK garage.
It works great on the dance floor and seems like it would be a hit at karaoke, too.
With both rap and melody to enjoy, it could be a fun choice for two lower-voiced women to try at karaoke!
O-bekaSorry

A work where a nursery rhyme-like melody is tinged with a subtly eerie atmosphere.
It’s a track by Surii released in August 2024, with animation by NekoZemon and color design by Sachiko.
The playful back-and-forth between Kasane Teto and Kagamine Len makes it an irresistibly charming pop number.
Both the lyrics and the music video carry a sense of narrative, inviting plenty of interpretation.
And the melody is so catchy it makes you want to sing it yourself! In other words, it’s a great pick for karaoke.
inferiorAi Tomioka

Ai Tomioka is a female singer-songwriter who’s gained popularity for her catchy musical style.
While she often gives the impression of having many cute songs, her new track “Otorii” carries a somewhat downbeat mood.
The chorus feels a bit brighter, but the A and B sections feature very relaxed, laid-back vocals.
Overall, the song has a narrow range and is sung mostly in the mid-register.
For women with lower voices, the A and B sections will particularly shine, so consider adding it to your repertoire.
woman; femaleAyako Fuji

Aya Fuku’s repertoire has long focused on portraying various facets of a woman’s heart, and Onna is a landmark re-debut single she first released under the name Aya Fuku in 1989.
Even at that point, her distinctive artistic world was already firmly established.
Though the song uses a simple major-key progression and has a bright tone, it is classic Aya Fuku enka, poignantly conveying a certain wistful woman’s sentiment.
While it’s quintessential enka, it also showcases techniques unique to a singer with roots in traditional folk music, so be especially careful about spots where the pitch can easily slip, and aim to sing with a smooth, expansive delivery.

A Woman’s True HeartAyako Fuji

Although it’s in a major key with a bright feel, the way it sings about a fairly heavy-hearted woman’s feelings is quintessentially classic enka, which is great, isn’t it? “Onna no Magokoro” is a single released in 1999 by Ayako Fuji, and it’s a superb masterpiece featuring her characteristically sultry yet refined vocals and melody.
As I mentioned at the start, it’s orthodox enka, so anyone reasonably used to singing enka should be able to handle it without trouble, and it seems like a good practice song for beginners as well.
Of course, techniques like kobushi are important, and while the high notes in the chorus get attention, the low notes in the A melody might actually be a bit difficult for those who struggle with lower registers.
Still, try practicing repeatedly, articulating the lyrics clearly and aiming to bring out a seductive nuance like Fuji-san’s!
OrangeLavt

Lavt, a singer-songwriter from Osaka City, is gaining attention.
Born in 2002, he began playing instruments in the second grade of elementary school and, throughout his student years, posted vocal covers and created tracks using Vocaloid.
His emotionally charged, pop-leaning rock songs—entirely written, composed, and arranged by himself—are a testament to his remarkable talent.
Since his debut in 2024, he has ranked high on charts across various music streaming platforms, earning strong acclaim from overseas as well.
With a unique artistic vision and solid musicality, along with an active presence on social media, he’s an artist that fans of Japanese rock and indie pop should definitely check out.
As long as I can drink some good booze, I’m happy.Yoko Nagayama

Born in the Reiwa era, this is a hymn to life for adult women everywhere, with a soothing, massage-for-the-heart effect! “As Long as the Booze Is Tasty” was released in 2023 as a single by Yoko Nagayama, and just as the title suggests, her cheerful delivery of lyrics that make drinkers want to slap their knees and say “Exactly!” is energizing—not only for women, but for anyone who listens.
The melody and Nagayama’s vocals are classic enka in style, so if you’ve mastered the basics of enka technique, you should be able to sing it with ease.
As an enka piece, it’s not particularly difficult, so beginners can use this song to practice techniques like kobushi (melodic ornamentation).
