Songs with Titles Starting with 'O' [Great for Karaoke & Shiritori Too!] (321–330)
Blizzard of Blossoms of a WomanMidori Oka

This is a Reiwa-era life-encouragement song by Midori Oka, renowned for her mysterious enka style, showcasing powerful kindness and brightness! “Onna no Hana Fubuki” is the B-side to “Kami no Tsuru,” released in February 2019, and it’s a masterpiece that lifts your spirits when you’re feeling down.
It’s perfect for wrapping up a karaoke session, as well as for farewell parties or New Year’s gatherings.
It’s classic, straight-down-the-middle enka, so those accustomed to the genre should be able to sing it smoothly.
Overall, the pitch is high and the range is wide, so if you’re new to enka, try breaking it into parts—A melody, B melody, and chorus—and focus your practice on the sections you find most challenging.
Woman Harbor TownAki Yashiro

Onna Minato-machi is a single released by Aki Yashiro in 1977.
In fact, it’s a cover of the original song Onna Minato-machi released in 1973 by Yuji Minami and the Full Sails.
It’s a classic that was performed at the 28th NHK Kohaku Uta Gassen and received a Special Award at the 10th All Japan Cable Broadcasting Awards.
With a richly kayōkyoku-influenced sound, it’s an ideal choice for karaoke, especially for those who aren’t yet accustomed to straightforward enka or who love Showa-era pop.
The rhythmical A melody with clearly articulated Japanese and light accents, as well as the distinctive vibrato sections that appear in the B melody and chorus, can make it easy to go off pitch, so be sure to focus your practice on those parts.
Rain of MemoriesIshihara Junko

Junko Ishihara’s signature song “Omoide no Ame” embodies modern enka.
While firmly inheriting the genre’s core elements, it’s also as easy to sing as a pop tune.
It does feature kobushi ornamentation, but not the fast, scale-jumping kind—rather the type with a deliberate pause—so it isn’t overly difficult.
On top of that, the vocal range is narrow and there are no parts that require belting, making it truly a beginner-friendly enka song.
Definitely consider adding it to your repertoire.
A Man’s Pure HeartYuto Tatsumi

Released in 2019, “Otoko no Junjo” was the second single by Yuto Tatsumi, who at the time was active as an enka singer while still a university student.
It topped the enka charts and reached No.
10 on the Oricon overall chart, helping cement the image of a new star for the Reiwa era in the enka world.
It’s classic enka that powerfully sings of supporting the somewhat awkward way a man lives, but its light, refreshing melody—reflecting Tatsumi’s personality—is easy to remember.
The vocal range isn’t very wide either, making it very easy to sing for an enka song.
I’d love for beginners to give it a try!
Isn't it a man?Miyuki Kawanaka

While Miyuki Kawanaka’s alluring enka is highly acclaimed, her “men’s songs” are also praised.
Among the many men’s songs she has released, the one I especially recommend is Otoko Ja Nai Ka (“Aren’t You a Man”).
As the bold title suggests, this piece is characterized by a very powerful vocal delivery.
Despite its strength, it doesn’t require the delicate, intricate kobushi (melismatic turns), so you can sing it boldly.
If you want to sound more polished, try raising the key to the point where your voice slightly flips when you execute the kobushi.
Orbital PeriodHoshimachi Suisei

A track marked by a grand, space-evoking melody and a crystalline vocal performance.
Released digitally in February 2025, this song by Suisei Hoshimachi was first unveiled at her solo concert at Nippon Budokan, capturing the hearts of many fans.
Its lyrics, portraying the bond between artist and fans and the emotion of live performances, resonate deeply with listeners.
It’s the perfect song for moments when you want to feel connected to someone important.
Osaka Love Story ~Won’t You Be With Me?~Mitsuko Nakamura

Mitsuko Nakamura’s classic “Osaka Jōwa ~Won’t You Be With Me?~,” with its memorable Kansai dialect, is a well-known masterpiece in the Osaka enka scene.
In this song, a fairly high falsetto appears in the B section.
That might sound difficult, but the piece itself is very slow in tempo, and on top of that, it contains many rests, allowing you to prepare well before the tricky parts.
Also, the number of kobushi (ornamental turns) is among the fewest in her songs, making it easier to sing in that regard as well.
The vocal range isn’t extremely wide either, so if falsetto is not your strong suit, don’t hesitate to lower the key.
