Goodbye ElegyMasaki Suda1rank/position

Masaki Suda, who shines with his multifaceted talents as an actor and singer.
His song “Sayonara Elegy” also drew attention as the theme song for the drama “Todome no Kiss,” starring Kento Yamazaki.
His husky voice adds depth to each phrase and highlights how easy it is to sing.
The song has little variation in vocal range and is arranged simply, making it a recommended choice even for those who aren’t confident in their singing.
With a somewhat nostalgic melody line, it’s likely easy for people of any generation to sing.
Only for you, clear skiesYorushika2rank/position

In voice lessons, my students and I often called it Yorushika’s “Sunny” series! Among those, ‘Just a Sunny Day for You’ doesn’t go too high in range, but the rhythm in the A section is distinctive, so knowing where to cut off and where to stop is key.
I think it’s easier to get if you listen closely to the drums and try singing while clapping along.
Also, make sure to resonate through your body so you don’t end up singing too loudly.
The human body resonates like an instrument—your head and chest can vibrate.
For this song, there are spots with falsetto, so it’s easier to sing if you focus on head resonance.
Try a gentle hum to locate where you’re vibrating.
If you feel it around your brow/forehead area, that’s excellent! Keeping that gentle sensation as you transition into your singing voice will give you a falsetto-based tone and make pitching easier.
The key is not to tense up!
LemonKenshi Yonezu3rank/position

Kenshi Yonezu’s 8th major single was released in March 2018 (with digital distribution starting earlier in February of the same year).
It was written as the theme song for the TBS TV drama “Unnatural.” To aim for a high karaoke score with this song, there are a few tricky parts in the melody, so it’s essential to check those in advance.
Once you’ve memorized the melody, there aren’t any extremely high notes, so as long as the key suits you, you should definitely be able to go for a high score! The rhythm has a slight swing to it, so be careful not to miss that—make sure you really get into the groove of the track when you sing!
First NightYorushika4rank/position

Yorushika is a duo known for their relaxed musicality and profound themes and lyrics.
If you’re a young person these days, you’ve probably heard their songs at least once.
Among Yorushika’s works, the track I especially recommend is First Night.
The song has a quintessentially Yorushika feel—ennui-laden and dreamlike.
While it leans a bit toward the higher register, the vocal line doesn’t span a wide range, so even those who aren’t confident singers should find it easy to sing.
We Are Never Ever Getting Back TogetherTaylor Swift5rank/position

Taylor Swift is a female singer-songwriter who has been active for many years since the 2000s.
She originally specialized in orthodox country music, but from the middle of her career she also began working in dance music.
Among her songs, the one I especially recommend for junior high school students is “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together.” It features a classic melody that epitomizes Western pop music, so I think even junior high school students who don’t know the song can enjoy it a lot.
Promise of SunflowersMotohiro Hata6rank/position

Motohiro Hata’s 17th single, released in August 2014.
It was the theme song for Toho’s 3D CG animated film “STAND BY ME Doraemon.” The song is notable for its very familiar, accessible melody.
Since Motohiro Hata is highly regarded for his vocal ability, many people might wonder, “Can I really aim for a high score with this song?” But don’t worry—the tempo is medium-slow, the rhythm is easy to follow, and as long as you watch a few key points, the melody is well within a singable range.
The main caution with the melody is the high notes sung in falsetto during the A section, which will likely be the biggest hurdle.
If you can manage the transition between registers there, you should be able to sing the rest smoothly.
If you’re unsure, try lowering the key when you sing it at karaoke.
Tomorrow as wellSHISHAMO7rank/position

SHISHAMO is a three-woman girls’ rock band, and the song I’m introducing, “Ashita mo,” is one of their signature tracks, released as a single from their 2017 album SHISHAMO 4.
It’s a song I especially recommend for women who aren’t confident in their singing.
The overall vocal tone is steady with few high notes, so there’s less chance of mistakes and it’s easier to deliver a stable performance.
Also, the lyrics resonate with young people who are always doing their best, which is another big plus.
