Addicted To That RushMr. BIG8rank/position

A song by MR.
BIG, the American rock band that enjoys immense popularity in Japan.
It opens with a rapid-fire tapped bass phrase, followed by unison lines and call-and-response with the guitar—a dazzling performance that overturns conventional ideas about the bass.
Another highlight is how the bass doesn’t stay front and center the whole time; it creates contrast by firmly holding down the root under the vocals.
A must-listen track for bassists.
ShineMr. BIG9rank/position

A scorching rock number by Mr.
Big, highlighted by fierce guitar riffs and powerful vocals! Centered on themes of resilience in the face of adversity and self-acceptance, the lyrics inspire courage and hope in listeners.
Featured on the album “Actual Size,” released in November 2001, it reached No.
5 on Japan’s Oricon chart.
It also gained attention as the ending theme for the TV anime “Hellsing.” Perfect for moments when you want to face yourself or cheer on someone you care about.
Mr.
Big’s heartfelt performance and vocals are sure to move you!

This is a song by a so-called supergroup formed in 1989 by Billy Sheehan (b), Paul Gilbert (g), Eric Martin (vo), and Pat Torpey (ds), all of whom were already well-established and popular.
It’s a very up-tempo track that lets you fully enjoy the ultra high-speed unison playing by Billy and Paul—both known for their virtuosity—on bass and guitar.
And the undeniable highlight of the song is the unison section in the latter half of the interlude where they use an electric drill on guitar and bass! A truly thrilling track.

Just Take My HeartMr. BIG11rank/position

When it comes to sentimental love songs in hard rock, Mr.
Big comes to mind.
It’s a song about a man whose girlfriend has left him.
He sings of a serious love where he can’t imagine life without her.
The chorus has a refreshing feel that makes you want to belt it out along with it.
The Whole World’s Gonna KnowMr. BIG12rank/position

It’s a slightly darker rock track from a seasoned rock band, Mr.
Big, featured on one of their albums.
It kicks off with an impressive guitar riff by Paul Gilbert, followed by Eric Martin’s powerful vocals.
The guitar solo in the middle is blazing and seriously cool.
Green-Tinted Sixties MindMr. BIG13rank/position

Among the songs by Mr.
Big—the band featuring guitarist Paul Gilbert, who was hugely popular among guitar kids in the ’90s—I think this one has the most distinctive intro riff.
That riff, played with two-handed tapping, was something those guitar kids rushed to copy.
Up On YouMr. BIG14rank/position

MR.
BIG, who achieved worldwide success from the 1980s through the 1990s, return with a powerful new song that carries the spirit of hard rock into the present.
Its lyrics about intimate relationships pair perfectly with an energetic sound.
Drawing attention as the lead single from the album “TEN,” released in July 2024, the track is featured on their highly anticipated new record—their first in seven years.
Showcasing soaring vocals and virtuosic guitar work, this song represents the band at their very best.
It’s highly recommended for anyone struggling with love or relationships—and above all, for those who truly love fiery rock ’n’ roll.
