Prince's Most Popular Songs Ranking [2025]

Born in the United States in 1958, Prince was a remarkably gifted musician—one of the most brilliant in contemporary music—who, in addition to being a singer-songwriter, composer, music producer, and actor, could play a wide range of instruments.

I’ve compiled and will introduce a ranking of his popular songs, which are respected by many fellow musicians.

Prince's Most Popular Songs Ranking [2025] (21–30)

Beautiful, Loved and BlessedPrince29rank/position

Prince was a great musician whose genre-defying style influenced countless artists.

So beloved that people would say, “If the sun is Michael Jackson, then the moon is Prince,” he produced hit after hit in his lifetime, blending refined musical sensibilities with overwhelming guitar prowess.

Among his many songs, Beautiful, Loved and Blessed is one I especially recommend.

While it has an R&B feel, it isn’t orthodox R&B; instead, it weaves in elements of funk to create a richly layered melody.

Sometimes It Snows in AprilPrince30rank/position

Prince, the genius musician whose name is etched in music history.

Released in 1986 as the final track on his album Parade, this song portrays the death of Christopher Tracy, a character from the film Under the Cherry Moon.

With the paradoxical image of snow falling in spring, it captures unexpected loss and sorrow, while its gentle piano and acoustic guitar melodies sink deeply into the heart.

April 21, 2016—the day Prince passed away—was, poignantly, the same date on which he recorded this piece.

It’s a song for anyone who has lost someone dear, or for a quiet night when you want to sink into memories.

Purple RainPrince31rank/position

Prince was not only a bridge between Black funk and white rock, but a charismatic artist who took the world by storm with his unparalleled originality.

This is the masterpiece that made his name resound across the globe.

It also served as the theme song for the film of the same name in which he appeared.

It’s still fresh in memory that Yuzuru Hanyu performed his short program to Prince’s “Let’s Go Crazy.”

Prince & Andy Allo I love U in Me – Acoustic Version
I love U in MePrince & Andy Allo

The legendary American artist, Prince.

Sadly, he passed away in 2016.

“I Love U in Me” is one of his great songs—not very famous, but beloved by devoted fans.

This time, I’ve chosen a cover by Andy Allo, who is considered a protégé of Prince.

The original has a melody that strongly reflects Prince’s signature style, but this version adds a languid, acoustic arrangement.

It also carries a cute, charming vibe!

Purple RainPrince & The Revolution33rank/position

The masterpiece “Purple Rain,” which combines elements of rock, R&B, gospel, and orchestral music, is considered one of Prince’s signature songs.

Although it was released in 1984, after Prince passed away in 2016, it once again reached No.

1 on the iTunes charts in the United States and the United Kingdom.

NorthPrince34rank/position

A song by Prince, the American musician also known as a multi-instrumentalist capable of playing numerous instruments.

When you hear “guitar instrumental,” you might imagine a flashy sound with full-on technical display, but the minimal number of notes that suit the song’s atmosphere conveys a true sense of subtractive beauty.

From a stance that treats the guitar as just one instrument among many, he slips in striking phrases with exquisite timing—resulting in a comfortable track whose guitar work aligns perfectly with the song’s overall vibe.
