[Teens] Karaoke Popularity Rankings by Generation [2025] (61–70)

sumika / Fanfare [Music Video]
Fanfare sumika

Sumika is a rock band known for their catchy sound that blends J-pop and rock.

The vocalist, Kenta Kataoka, has a notably rich, full-bodied voice—something rare among recent artists.

Their song Fanfare is a piece where you can fully savor Kataoka’s mid and low-mid range.

While it’s not a song with a particularly narrow range, it emphasizes the thickness of the mid and low-mid tones, so you can sing it comfortably even if you can’t hit very high notes.

Consider adding it to your repertoire.

Double Double FIGHT!CANDY TUNE65rank/position

Double Double FIGHT! CANDY TUNE

CANDY TUNE is an idol group from ASOBISYSTEM, currently the hottest idol agency.

They specialize in pop and cute styles, with releases from 2023.

Among their songs, the one I especially recommend is “Baibai FIGHT!” It’s popular on TikTok, so many high schoolers probably know it.

This track has a lot of spoken-style phrases, giving it a rap-like element, but in terms of following the pitch, it’s very easy to sing.

The overall sound is pop, and the vocal range is mid1 G# to hi D—so it’s not excessively wide.

If you can handle the spoken delivery, you should be able to sing it without any issues.

It’s guaranteed to hype up the crowd, so definitely add it to your repertoire.

Team friend(s) Chiba Yuki

I think today’s middle school students are closer to hip-hop than any generation before them.

Among them, many middle school heads are probably listening to trap music, which leads the times.

What I recommend is Team Tomodachi.

This track is a hit number by Yuki Chiba, aka KOHH, that gained worldwide popularity.

It’s laid back in trap style, so the flow is very simple.

Even those not used to rapping should have no problem performing it.

Merry XmasBoA67rank/position

How about listening to a sublime ballad that will warm your cold winter? “Meri Kuri” is a moving song that portrays heartfelt feelings for someone special in an honest, down-to-earth way.

Released by BoA in 2004, it was featured in an Audio-Technica commercial.

That emotional feeling when the snow falls—everyone has experienced it, right? I think there’s a lot here that teenagers can relate to as well.

Why not belt out this timeless, beloved song at karaoke?

Shadows of SummerMrs. GREEN APPLE68rank/position

Mrs. GREEN APPLE “Summer Shadow” Official Music Video
Summer Shadow - Mrs. GREEN APPLE

Mrs.

GREEN APPLE’s “Natsu no Kage” is popular across generations and has a calm, slightly bittersweet vibe.

It’s the kind of song you’d want to listen to through your earphones on the way home with friends.

Since the range is B2 to A4 and not too wide, those trademark ultra-high notes from Mrs.

GREEN APPLE barely appear.

It may feel a bit low for women, but it’s a relaxing number to sing.

The key points when singing are, of course, the low notes and the switch into falsetto.

The melody starts mostly in the low range and might be hard to produce, but try singing like Omori-san: raise your eyebrows and imagine sending a lot of breath forward toward your eyebrows.

When switching from chest voice to falsetto, you’ll want to keep the resonance in the same place.

Similarly, use plenty of breath and aim to resonate around your eyebrows and head—sing gently and softly with a floating feel, and the transition will be smoother.

Keep that in mind!

I want to love you super muchbedhead69rank/position

Neguse. “Super Aishitai” Official Music Video
I want to love your bedhead super much.

Neguse is a four-piece rock band with an emo sound that’s popular among young people—if you’re a teen guy who follows Japanese rock, you’ve probably heard of them.

Their track “Super Aishitai” is one of their signature songs, characterized by a soft, youth-evoking tone.

While it’s fairly bright and features a distinctly rock-like riff that bursts through, the vocal line is surprisingly calm and the range is quite compact.

Even teenage boys who find it hard to sing due to voice changes can handle it comfortably, so consider adding it to your repertoire.

platitudesHoshimachi Suisei70rank/position

Suisei Hoshimachi, the VTuber currently attracting the most attention, is a member of hololive and has gained nationwide popularity as an artist.

While many of her songs span a wide vocal range with touches of falsetto, that’s not the case with Kireigoto.

In this piece, aside from a single falsetto moment that appears once in the chorus, there are no high parts, and the song is arranged in a low register throughout.

Even the falsetto line is something she could sing in chest voice but chooses to render in falsetto, making it easy to sing for women with lower voices.
